How does it work ? Do you just need it in inventory or hotbar to auto activate or do you need to use it (inject it). How do you know if you have it injected if so there is nothing displayed. I injected it few times because I forgot I had it injected. I don't want to waste it but I also dont want to die by accident because I dont have it in me

you need to use it from bag or hot bar. has a reset timer when it triggers

did you ever figure out if you just need it in your inventory?

It's a consumable buff item, you use it then you have the buff for 2 hours, it shows up as a number above your sanity meter in the bottom right of your screen, if you open your inventory and hover over that it will tell you how long you have left on it.
Its automatic and when it triggers you get a debuff that won't let it happen again for 30 mins.
