Water pump pumps both polluted water and dirty water
Hello everyone. So I built an acid farm and installed water pumps on the ground to pump polluted water. I also installed water pumps on the water to pump dirty water but half o the time it pumps polluted water and it pumps polluted water continuously to the point that I don't have water supply until it starts pumping dirty water again. Is this normal? Is there a way for the pump to just pump dirty water? Thanks :)

Have you got the polluted water pumps and dirty water pumps going into separate Osmosis Filters?

Yes they have different osmosis filters

Are the osmosis filters piped into separate water storage containers? I have the Dirty to Filter to Pure going into a separate water storage which is then gravity fed into the barrels so they are constantly topped up with Pure Water. I've done the same on the Polluted to Impure Acid side too just in case the devs decide to fix the issue with impure acid not flowing through pipes. The only issue I have is when offline the polluted side pumps water too.

an alternating pump is one that is in polluted ground but near water, one cycle will pull 4 polluted water, the next will pull 24 dirty water, one of these is good because the brew barrels need pure water

if you want dirty water only move into the water, and if polluted only move it away

Is it possible you have placed your Water pumps for the polluted water near or in actual water? They need to be in solid ground. That way they only pump polluted water.

I have 12 water pumps on the ground for polluted water connected to 2 osmosis and has separate water tanks no problem with it. I also installed 2 separate water pumps in the water for dirty water alone and its connected to a separate osmosis filter and separate water tanks. My only issue is the water pumps that is on the water because it pumps polluted water instead of dirty water only. they have their own osmosis and water tanks.

I built a separate pump for dirty water alone so I have infinite supply but it pumps polluted water so I have hundreds in the water tank before it pump dirty water again. My pump for dirty water and polluted are separated with their own tanks and osmosis. and since I also use the water for my irrigation. It drains my water then it interrupts the acid production because the osmosis is processing polluted and not water.

I've found that if you're in a polluted area, you get roughly 75% dirty water and 25% polluted, the "acid" water is not removed from the filter. That has to be done manually.

It doesn't matter if you try to separate pumps etc you'll always get same result.

You need only 1 corner of your territory to be in pollution, to access pollution power plants and pumps for polluted water. You don't even need a river, just pump it out of the ground.

Pump on the ground 100% polluted water no issue there but I hope devs can sort of "fix" it by pumping dirty water only if the pump is placed on water.

I'll test it using separate tanks for storage but pretty sure i put pumps all around my base in 125 polluted area and whether pulling from ground or water resulted in a mixed supply.

I'm trying to test also where I put the pump on deep water (where i can't see the ground) but the game is bugged rn and it's difficult to change location with all the people that have occupied the areas. thanks for answering.

Yes. This is your issue. My base is half in polluted zone and half out. My pure water comes from the unpolluted side.

From what I've found it doesn't matter if you're half in half out. Having only 1% in pollution makes the entire territory polluted as far as power or pumps are concerned. Whether you put pumps in water or on ground.

Dunno what yer on about bruh... my impure acid goes straight from my osmosis to my water tank NP.
