Longer or permanent seasons
Hello there,

My geriatric friends and I (36+ years old) love the game; however, now days our gaming time is reduced to a few hours each week, if we're lucky. Our progress is slow, clearing maybe a couple of areas/bosses before the end of a season. Of course, like all players, we get to keep most of our items and do have to rebuild our base, but since we haven't made much progress, the game makes us do all the quests again. We are making more progress with each season, but it is getting repetitive and lame having to do the same quests each time. We're about to start our third season.

I have been told there is a mechanic where if you complete all quests that you won't have to do them anymore. We're probably a long way from that (no idea, really). Perhaps this could be adjusted?

The main thing we want is longer, or permanent seasons. I remember there was a Dev post about this many months ago when the game was released. This would resolve our issue. Is this something the Dev's are still interested in?

Cheers,
Badgreeny

The mechanic is when you land on the map for the first time a new server, a pop up will appear with 2 choices:

1. SIMPLIFIED

2. FULL

Make sure to choose Simplified if you want to turn the quests that you have done into simple "go to point A and press F" quests which still give you all the rewards regardless of how many steps the original quest had.

You only get 1 chance to do this per season so don't press the wrong 1.

I see! This will be a great help. Thanks for sharing.

Do you, or anyone else know if the dev's still plan on making longer, or permanent seasons?

Simplified should pop up when you enter a new scenario and as Kenneth said, choose wisely when it does. It allows you to go to the quest start location and do a single click to 'remember the past'. Quest done.
There are enough people asking for perma-servers that I do not see where they wouldn't consider at least a couple but nothing has been said beyond 'we're thinking about it'.

Thanks Yhtill. Fingers crossed :steamhappy:

I am playfully offended you think you are old for being over 36.

I am curious how you are not getting to end game before the resets, though. I'm retired myself, but my husband works full time and can typically catch up to my no-life play style by week three via following the main quest path.

Where are you struggling?

Your husband's probably far more adept at gaming than me. I also tend like to do as many side quests as possible, which should be less of an issue thanks to Kenneth and Yhtill. I used to be a proper gamer, but I took an arrow to the knee.
