New memetic: Generator output increase the hotter it gets (basicly) --Way of Winter
Hi there fellow mayflys.

Recently i picked up the memetic as described. however it states its gives +0,2% per degree ranging from 20 to 60 degrees and +0,5% per degree above 60 with a cap of 40%.
40% output increase sounds pretty sweet, however to reach that (calculate with me).
20 to 60 range --> 40 levels x 0,2% equals 8%.
adding the other 32% requires 64 degrees above 60. That's 124 °C for maximum performance of said generators.

I Honestly tried my hydraulic generator in a lavastream pouring from a mountain instead of a river with regular water to see if that brings me closes to max gains. Couldn't place or it didnt work. Or somehow it register water i guess but it didn't really increase the output since it runs on the ambient temperature (value under minimap)

Any thought on how to optimize this? I went to Snake-eyes pass where its 45~50 °C. added a bit with a furnace and later the electric heat thingy on max. However each gen only got 2,5 ~4 W output increase. 4x6 = 24 W extra. Keeping the heat on max +20 °C costs 12 W so i end up with +12W for a specialization..
meanwhile the Hydraulic upgrade gives 6x5 + another 35 = 65 W

This memetic should be reviewed
Only a Thermal Tower set to near max could aid in this dilemma. However Devs also stated (somewhere sure ive read it) that abuse of thermal towers and reports followed by them will be taken seriously. If i crank up the heat so my gens perform optimal.. 124 °C is a sure Death for any mayfly that comes to close but isn't in a heatstroke protected area. Thus reports flood in even though the intent is not to kill fellow mayfly but to enhance gen performance with memetic specialization. These 2 bump into each other. Think we can all agree we don't wanna be on either side of this issue when it occurs.

Don't get me wrong i like the max value and its potential. +40% on 35W is +14W per gen and thus + 84 W with six of those generators. I just don't wanna get reported, banned or hated by my fellow mayfly for roasting them @ 124 ° C

What they should do is adjust the temperature mechanic so that the effect shifts more gradually, such as 1 degree shift between previous and current temperature every 5 seconds, unless on fire or sitting in water or lava. This would let players have enough time to adjust gear or consumables when the temperature gets to extreme levels and generally make the system much less punishing.

What they'll actually do is nerf the memetic so it gives a maximum bonus of 15% at 0.5% per degree.
