The cold weather mechanic is just an annoyance

So i got the warm stone in my backpack, i crafted chest and pants with -cold mod...and still you drop dead within 10 secs if i leave my house...wtf am i supposed to do? Im not even in a snowy region.. This new map sucks, could do without heat/cold stuff, its just annoyiong

Totally agree with you.
I thought the void etc mobs in season 2 were bad enough but this new freezing to death in seconds is just too much.
I have really enjoyed the game up until now but I uninstalled it after experiencing this "feature" I think there are enough things to deal with in the game without this latest annoyance.
I feel a big pang of regret for doing so as Once human has been my go to game ever since I found it in season one so whether I will stay away or not I really don't know..

Skill issue? I've only died once to cold and that's because I didn't understand I had to molotov the Cold Ore before mining it. Did you craft and eat the food that gives you a heat buff for 30 mins? The new map is good IMHO. Yes it's harder than Manibus but some of us PvE players actually enjoy the challenge. The server I'm on is full and VERY active which is also refreshing. The smaller map means players aren't stretched too thin and it feels WAY more populated than previous scenarios.

Yep. Annoying and serves no purpose. It's like a worse version of the daylight mechanic in V Rising, except there I guess it makes sense since you're a vampire, but still it's just an absolute annoyance.

Also lol at the clown above me saying "skill issue?" Yes, you need crazy skill to wear warm clothing.

Plus, I can wear my beach gear skin and run around without needed additional warmth so what are we even doing with this mechanic?

Use bear skin to make body and pants, with a Heatium you can easily go through all current zones in WoW with it (-20C is still Cozy). Don't even need food buff.

There's also Chaosium Lantern but never have to use it yet.

Yeah, utilizing bear skin with the stone has allowed me to go everywhere on the currently open regions (complete and waiting for phase 2 to start). I still have the food buff as a back up mechanic.

Granted, the new design, which allows us to actively swap out skins for EVERY piece of gear, wasn't really well explained, but it follows the traditional RPG mechanic. That being said, the 'flow' of the regions and the quests is a little chaotic this time around. Doesn't mesh as well as the Manibus scenario, imo.

After you make armor with some good hides you can just scrap the lesser hides for scraps to repair your gear. Ive had no issues with the weather mechanic after making good cold resist armor with bear or seal hide or something quick and easy

No just the top and pants. These are the only pieces of gear that have heat/cold buff ASFAIK.

You are correct. Only the chest and pants affect temperature resistance. All the other pieces have different settings depending on the skin used (physical damage, elemental, defensive buffs, ect).
