We like to level and do silos and monoliths.
Farming is a big part of this game and finding a decent spot to build.
Our spot was yielding polluted water AND oil and now we've had to move.
What makes it even worse is that someone can just come and plonk a tower down anywhere and start leveling it up, so you might not be safe anywhere.
More casual players will be leaving in droves because of this.
It's ill thought out....and that's putting it mildly....
What about if you're playing with people on the same server in your time zone??
Has one person got to stop online and contact the rest when this happens??
I'm in no way moaning at you and I'd like to say thanks, for telling me this.
As Clint Eastwood said in "Heartbreak Ridge"
"It's a cluster... sir"....
The entire mechanic is just to encourage people to play together, you don't need a tower to complete WoW. It's a huge boon for a hive and makes a big difference on the PVP servers but for PVE? Don't even worry about it. Trying to maintain a Thermal Tower solo is insane. It burns through Chaosium soooo much faster than you can gather it on your own, even with exploits.
No Chaosweaver, but purification is not random. If it's your tower you can choose when to purify, I always call for help and 15-20 people come making short work of the spawns. I did lose some part of my base due to bug invisible spawn inside my base once.
There's also an upgrade that add three Deviants to fight for you, and they patrol my base LOL.
LOL, right? I was sitting here like "Purification isn't random, one of your dopey Hive mates started the purification, y'all got wrecked, and they didn't want to fess up to being the one who did it."
You have an idiot among you. The tower's log should tell you who started purification. There's your problem. They clicked without finding out what it would do and you all paid the price.
Just before the tower was attacked someone raised the temperature??
Could that have done it??
If you built your base and thermo tower on a Chaos Weaver spawn point, then when he spawns he will destroy everything in the area and everyone's loot and material will drop on the floor for everyone to pick up.
The rise in temperature might indicate that it was the fire version.
.
SO someone has to initiate combat with it before it would cause damage on any territories.
If no one started a Purification, then that's definitely the case. Chaos Weavers spawn in the same spot every time. That explains the guy who got his base wrecked twice. Best to move if you find yourself in a spawn spot.
You can actually move your base during a Chaos Weaver attack. There's a countdown timer of around a minute (I was panicking and didn't notice the timer at first) that starts when the Chaos Weaver spawns, after which you can move your base out of range of the attack.
I woke up to my base wiped because of a Chaos Weaver, rebuilt it, and then it spawned later that day while I was on. I was able to move it and found out that that spot also happened to be its spawn point. Minimal damage the second time so I'm glad I was online that time.
There's a map that shows Chaos Weaver spawns so you can avoid building in that spot.
Use Chrome to translate to English, filter for Chaos Weaver spawns, and note the spots.

Good to know about the spawn points and the timer.
