What does the player's level affect?
This has probably been written about many times, but... anyway, I came back to the game after a long break and I can't remember, and I don't understand how the level system and level difference work? Like, winter scenario, I have a level 26 character in t3, and I go to a location with level 29 vultures, and my sniper rifle and my SCAR kill elite mobs very, very slowly. It's just insanely slow. Is it because of the level difference or because I have one-star guns?

did you upgrade them via calibrate? your level from what ive seen effects the tier of gear you can use.
Adialeda Nov 26, 2024 @ 6:52pm
Thank you. It completely slipped my mind that calibration increases the main stats of items ^^
~KeNnEtH~ Nov 26, 2024 @ 9:35pm
Levels do not give stats. Main thing level does is give you memetic points to unlock buildings and some cradle override slots and memetic specialisations (mainly for crafting).

With regards to combat, it entirely depends on your gear (and the perks you slot into cradle overrides).

Level 10 = can use Tier II and below gear
Level 20 = can use Tier III and below gear
Level 30 = can use Tier IV and below gear
Level 40 = can use Tier V and below gear

Calibrations is mainly for the in-between levels to bridge the gap.

Stars on the guns and armor blueprint do matter too.

Nonsense. Calibration between levels is just a waste of resources. Calibrating t5 armor gives about x2 health, as well as some psi, which increases elemental damage. Calibrating t5 weapons greatly increases physical damage.

It's only nonsense because you are not a new player.

For new players who are leveling in between the 10s, if they are stucked with content, the best way forwards is to calibrate until they can get to next tier of gear.

At level 10-20 you oneshot mobs in the head with the starting crossbow. Misleading newplayers is a bad idea.

I don't think you understood what I meant.

The "Calibration" system to upgrade the gear is in the game to bridge the gap between the 10s.

Not talking about levels 10 to 20 or whatever levels specifically.

Just the fact that this system is in place for the levels in-between each 10 levels because you cannot wear the next tier of gear yet.

If you read OP's message properly, they are having difficulty dealing with level 29 enemies while wearing T3 gear that they unlocked at level 20.

They are not able to wear T4 gear yet because they are only level 26 and not level 30.

This is where they need to calibrate their T3 gear to bridge this gap.

It kind of does actually. Not raw stats, but the game does scale enemies based on your level. If your much lower level than the enemy, they will ROCK YOU. (Unless overgeared.) While everything dies instantly if your higher level than them. Which is why the hardest content has level 60 enemies 10 levels higher than you, to make them actually harder.

You've had some deep conversations here. I remember that jumping to the next tier is more economical and efficient, and calibrating only the last tier, for example. But I'm not here for long, I'm just killing time before the release of poe2. I don't want to minmax, I don't want to figure out which zones with which resource tiers are already available, and which are still closed.. I don't like this mechanic. I don't like the mechanics of seasons cut into weeks. But the gameplay itself is fun, so I'm just killing time. I don't really understand how you can play this seriously, given all these questionable decisions by the developers, but in any case, sometimes you can play a little.

If you read op's post, he talks about elite on winter map(not for beginners). But he doesn't say what his socr and sr are. Calibrating green gear won't give you anything XD

I answered you about "Calibrations are mainly for the in-between levels to bridge the gap." No, they are not MAINLY for the between levels.

I dont think they scale up enemy level in respect of the player level. They just scale up every living/non-living being according to their level. So it will be very hard to kill a level 57 goat. They have big health pool and run away very quick. I prefer to kill a level 57 wolf than a goat.

BTW, if one wait for all Commissions available and complete them before questing, it may save all 1-4 tier crafting materials.

So, this socr is physical damage. Calibrating weapons will give damage, calibrating armor will give more hp. You don't have any mods in your items at all, so you don't have a build (they give most dps) and the winter map is not for beginners. One blue mod for 9% weapon damage gives 9% weapon damage=) Of course, you won't blow up elites or bosses in the blink of an eye.

This is 6 star version for your reference. I am able to take out level 45 mobs with this.

You should be able to get a 3 star version relatively easily in 1 season with the blueprint conversion system or if you had finish the SOCR The Last Valor banner in wish machine which I believe only Novice Manibus had + buy a copy directly for another 80 fragments.

Valor with gas mask is a good meme, please delete it. (I think the rebalance patch hasn't come out yet) He has purple armor and 0 mods, why are you showing this? His bingo should oneshot normal mobs in a weak spot at this level but he's talking about elites.
