In my opinion, using the current 3-item one for example.
Unless you want at least 2 of the 3 items (LCD TV, the creepy doll cradle, or costume), you should not even spend any amount on it.
If you want to attempt 30 pulls, you should want all 3.
If you want to attempt 60 pulls, you should at least want 2 of them.
If you want to attempt 90 pulls, you can want any 1 of them.
Any less than that is really just gambling and the house always wins. There is a chance of course but unless you really have the disposable income to do it, just don't.
If you want to spend on lightforge crates, the only price points (in crystagins) you should have in mind are:
(a) 4,000
(b) 8,800
(c) 13,600
(d) 18,400
(e) 23,200
If you are not prepared to hit any of those amounts, do not even attempt.
If you want to attempt, my opinion is:
(a) 30 pulls = you need to want any of the (5 or 3)
(b) 60 pulls = you need to want any 4 of the (5 or 3)
(c) 90 pulls = you need to want any 3 of the (5 or 3)
(d) 120 pulls = you need to want any 2 of the 5
(e) 150 pulls = you can want any 1 of the 5
Cant wait for some regulation here in the West that will destroy their gambling and greedy practices.
If lootboxes are a norm there, fine, add them as primary incoming source on your games, but adjust the prices to what you actually obtain. Spending a Console price at the end for a single skin every month is pur evil. If they would cut the prices in order to spend 30-40bucks in total, that would be a huge step to be a fair system, and they would actually increase the incomings as not only whales would buy them but many other players too.
But nope, they have always been greedy as f aiming for big numbers only.

What they are is a waste of money. Like they are in every game. At least in OH they just contain cosmetics.
Unless you want most of what's on offer from a crate you should stay far, far away. The chance to get the exclusive goodies is small enough that you should expect to do 30 draws for each one you want. If you only want a single one, there's always the chance it'll be the last of the 3 you get.
So just be prepared to do 90 draws. If the cost to do 90 draws is too much, then don't buy any crates.
I agree, its heavily implied that they are giving you a 1 in 3 chance at 30/90 to get the top prize... but they are not.
You have to go to 90/90 or... 150/150 or even 300/300 for some of the others... you won't get the top prize early unless you get it on the .01% chance.
It's a terrible system.
as long as its only cosmetics, which no one will hardly see if youre not a streamer, then they can throw away as much money as they want :D
