Dying of hypothermia
This is ruining the game. Some people just can't figure it out and keep dying of hypothermia.

It's poorly implemented and you shouldn't die almost immediately. Cause I can't play with my friends I have no choice but to not play. It is fun though.

I can't do anything, I love to explore but I always end up dying... everytime... unplayable...

go kill some bears/seals for cold resist or ask someone to give you some

Learn the mechanics of the scenario.
Raindeer, seals, bear. wool, for cold resist.
Alligator for hot resist.
There are cold/hot food.
There are cold/hot stone.
At higher leverls you got a latern that uses chaosism.

Your tutorial birds tells you this.

If there is a chaos rever in the area the temperature will skyrocket either cold or hot depending on the CW.

And half the time the mechanic doesn't work.

Sometimes I can survive -15 with just my armor and no food buffs; other times its like my armor isn't giving me any cold resist at all and I have to use food buffs to survive at -10.

I've had that happen to me several times of times I've even died of hypothermia while the temperature gauge was in the comfortable zone

In the space of a day my home went from perfectly fine to live in, to almost freezing to death on one side of the main room. My comfort zone is allegedly between -10 and -30 but the second I hit -11 I start to freeze to death.

What's more funny is the gauge seems to not even respond when I take off my insulated armor, putting it back on does nothing either. Yet as soon as I eat food that gives +5 cold resist? It moves, but only +5 and still ignores my armor insulation. Unless I make a new piece of armor and put it on, then suddenly it works... until it doesn't.

At this point I'm convinced the coding for temperature is just not working as intended.

I've noticed this too.
Sometimes when you switch gears:
1. It applies the temp resistance but doesn't show it.
2. It takes time for the temp meter to readjust.
3. Sometimes it just glitches and needs to be reset by eating a temp food, jumping into the new bed, jumping in water.
Basically anything else that can increase or decrease your resistance.
So far I've seen this glitch only in equipment swaps.

Does it make a difference what kind of hide I use? So like reindeer gives 5 cold resist and seal gives 10 or something?

Does it say so somewhere? Is there some indicator for that?

should be under where you select hides to make armor

Both Sealskin and Deer hide only say Cold Resist, but not that one is better than the other

Check the amount of Cold Resist. They will tell you.

You can scroll down on the armor description and it will tell you the effect.

Deer: +5

I have 300 hours in this and took me ages to figure it out. The whole temp things is just annoying. My server is empty and we are in week 3 of the scenario. This games still has 80k players but nonetheless each server is empty with very little players. Too many servers with too little people on it - doesnt matter if player count is decent is everyone is split up. The game feels empty and that is breaking it as well.
