Asian writing on certain items

Sometimes I get items that have asian writing on them in a cyan colour. I have no clue what it says but when I try to repair one it says I can't repair it because I'm not the owner. I'm guessing the writing is the name of some poor japanese/korean kid who lost his stuff, but why is it now in my inventory?

yes I see a lot of Chinese writing on some items it's kind of annoying

I'm confused about this too. I do an event and open an unopened chest and then I get an item that is someone elses? How does that work? And it's always the same name next to a picture of a head. Hopefully they fix whatever this is soon.

you cannot repair any weapons or armour you find. this is also to make it so you cant keep someones wep / armour from pvp indefinitelty. if you like the weapon or armor use it till its broken or just disassemble it for parts and / mod augments if there is any on it. eventually enhanced and calibrated weps are so much better anyway

the asian name is just the actor / owner that is set to it as it drops

Thanks! I'm playing PVE so these just come from crates, not corpses, but this still helps a lot.

I've got these weapons from boxes in the world as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the name translates to being belonged by the server or something.

It's an owned item. (aka you found some guys gun). I'll read what the chinese says next time i see one and type it but I dont remember at the moment. One time it said Mayfly (蜉蝣) so maybe the other ones probably say things like that Rosetta etc

Edit i found one that says 遗落装备 which means lost equipment

Interesting. Lost equipment cannot be repaired then. Looks like problem solved.
