Is building a Roof for a house possible on anything other than square boxes?
When i try and begin on the roof, the pieces and parts are going haywire and don't know where to attach itself. Some wall/ceiling parts are rotated is the issue for this, thus the post question.

I think the best way to do it from what I've gathered is to place certain sections first, you would want to place the triangle pieces that close off the sides of the roof before you place the roof itself. And then you would want to go from the bottom up. You are correct, the snapping feature is a bit goofy.

As for roof building techniques you can definitely do something besides squares but you have to understand roofs first, i dont really know how to explain it except maybe if you've played minecraft or fallout4/76 or something.

Also another tip i have is if you're having problems placing the BOTTOM of the roof, try placing it from the opposite angle while rotating it, usually this works for me (for example, place it from the opposite direction you were trying.

Generally and to sum it up:
Build from the sides and then bottom. The small triangles used to fill in the roof, and the large roof panels seem to have some trouble connecting if they are surrounded.

You might have luck looking up building guides on youtube but since the game is new there will be a lot of clickbait garbage with no info unfortunately

As far as I can tell, no, it is not possible. I'm losing my ♥♥♥♥ trying to do this. There's a very special little spot in hell for the people that worked on this system.

For the peaks, putting a square roof piece underneath first will help you place those.
