Yeah they don't work. Tried them yesterday and was disappointed because the door interaction is quite clunky and slow. Wish the game had automatically closing doors like Conan Exiles.

I found a solution.
Wire a camera together on both sides of the door, then connect one of the cameras to power, the second to a switch, and then connect the switch to the door. Now you have to open the door by hand every time, but it closes automatically.

I put a switch on the outside of the house powered it then switch to door. Coming into your house it opens the door then leaving the house closes the door. door dosnt need to be closed while im there. so it works for me
it opens and closes for me i think its the game glitching. placed 1 camera on each sides then connected them both together then connected one directly to the power one to the power box then to the door. Opens automatically when I'm close then closes when I'm far. sometimes it doesn't work sometime it does it weird, does say doesnt have enough power also for some reason but it works

yeah they need to get up on the ball with this idea these doors really need to close after you leave out of them I'm sick of people going in my house nosy as people

I figured it ouuuuut!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ okay. what you do is connect a solar pannel to a camera in the middle above your door, then connect that camera to a switch, then the switch to a pressure plate, then finally connnect that pressure plate to the door, then move the pressure plate behind (side that doesn't open with camera) and there ya go..... it will work try re building it and putting the switch and solar pannel on different aswell as gradually moving the pressure plate farther from the door. I know it sounds jank but it is 100% working for me after a few trys

Really, if the powered door gets electricity, it should open and close flawlessly with nothing more needing to be added. All the sensors, pressure pads and whatnot seem more tailored for base defence to me. Rather than build loads of crap and also use up electrical power, I'd sooner just keep opening and close the doors manually. 😄

final solution!!! place a solar panel to the right side and a camera in the middle on top, now place a switch on the left side of the door and finally place a camera on the inside(opposite of the first one).... after all that wire the solar panel to the first camera, then 1st camera to switch on the left. and finally wire up the the inside camera to that switch and activate the switch.... and there ya go all done, you got a working automatic door with no hassel

It only closes the doors on both sides with your "solution"

ok i hope this helps. i finally found a way to make the automatic door be "automatic" you'll need four things, a generator (solar, biomass, etc.) a camera, the "AUTOMATIC" door, and a power switch.

set up everything how you want it to be. and now here's how you wire them and achieve the "AUTOMATIC". Connect the camera wires directly to the generator, then connect another wire to the switch, and finally connect a wire from the switch to the "AUTOMATIC" door, this setup will trigger the function of the camera to turn on the switch whenever it "sees" you, thus supplying power to the "AUTOMATIC" door, opening it. it then will automatically close, when the power trips off the moment the camera no longer "sees" you. the only tricky part is the position of the camera, so to speak.

here's the simplified circuit of my "AUTOMATIC" door

Generator----->Camera------->Switch------->"AUTOMATIC" door

no no it doesn't it works but only for one door, you clearly set it up wrong but if you want another for more than 1 door here, make two cameras on two doors (however many doors you have) connect both cameras to the same switch and same exact power/pylon connect the switch to both doors(only one switch).. thats for outside now make a camera inside that has the main power(power for everything) connected directly to it, run the camera to a switchable pylon and then connect said switchable pylon your other circut/ pylon - pylon. then turn on only outside switch on( the one for the outside not pylon switch) and there ya go... all doors will open when you open one, and then all doors will close/cut power when you hit the camera inside. hit the camera one more time whence already inside to open all doors again. they will both close on the way out no matter what door you walk out.

to simplify for example 2 doors:
outside door 1: camera in middle of door, camera to same switch, switch to door 1, camera to pylon (non switchable) thats not powered yet
outside door 2: camera in middle, camera to same switch, switch to door 2, camera to same unpowered pylon (non switchable)

now inside: solar panel to camera that sees everywhere in house/ all exits, camera to switchable pylon, switchable pylon to normal pylon powering outside, then turn on only outside switch(not the pylon switch) and walk into your doors.

this doesnt work, only opens/closes the door from the outside, ive found a way to open and close doors from both sides if you want to read my most recent comment

What a freaking fiasco. I'll just leave my doors open and leave my bedroom door shut. It is just so much easier. I tired a few of your all's ideas and it's just too much work for no results. Face it, these are not automatic doors, they are the devil's work. LOL!
