Elemental vs Status Damage

Are they the same thing or does elemental damage only refer to the initial hit and not the DOT?
What is better in the end?

Elemental damage boosts the Elemental Damage that comes with a Hit. Status Damage boosts Damage over Time Damage....

Yea i came to the same conclusion after testing, thanks!
Still unsure which one is better for all the elements. Guessing frost and burn (and probably shock?) > status, everything else > elemental

i don't know if this is true cause burn guns don't deal elemental damage, they apply burn. their hit is white damage. but elemental damage def increases burns ticks

Frost and fire = damage of time = Status damage
Shock and bomber = direct damage = Elemental damage

You guys are confusing yourself it's the same thing look at this formula Actual Factor = 30% x (1+Frost Vortex DMG Factor Bonus) x (1+Frost Vortex Final DMG Bonus) the damage bonus factor is element the final dmg bonus is status, basically just add the highest you can get either elemental or status it has the same additive which is one

It boosts the same thing, its good to have a balance of both.
