Lost in madness bugged?

The task lv.7 Lost in madness, Is it bugged for others/if so how did you fix?

I found the location, can see what I can only guess is the thing, but cant do anything with it when i get close? Is there a way to abandon and re-pick up a quest?

I'm sure you must have your answer by now, but the quest is for a later level 35 area. It was living in my head rent free too because the topography didn't match up. However, if you have the quest selected, it does lift the fog of war a bit so you can see faint map details you normally wouldn't.
