Combo Chipset/Precious Metal Refininf question.

Is there a benefit to getting BOTH of these? I have combo chipset already and just rolled Precious Metal or Startdust Water Pump and having a hard time deciding based on what ive seen about the pump, but the twin money makers might be redundant or would it be a good idea to just take Metal Refining as well.

You can only sell so much to NPCs in a week. Chipset is good enough since all those materials can be readily looted while exploring.

I would go with Chipset since it is easier to find the resources for that. Unless, of course, you are focused on prospecting and smelting. In that case, the Precious Metal Refining specialization is the way to go to since Gold Ingots sell for the same amount as Chipsets and require less (although rare) resources to make.

I already have chipset, I got a roll for level 35 that is Precious Metal Refining or Stardust Water Pump. So I am trying to decide if there was a benefit to taking another money making say to need less of either to hit the max or if Stardust Water Pump was worth grabbing, heard mixed things about it. Since I dont have Sulfur Chemist or the other one yet, acid is all looted still.

Honestly I wouldnt stress the Sulfur Chemist thing at all. With the purple food that gives 50% increased acid drops im getting around 250 acid every half hour. It takes 8 hours to make 100 with sulfur chemist. As far as the intial question keep in mind gold has other uses besides just making ingots to sell. But either way id go with Stardust Water Pump since you already have combo chipset.

I think any moneymaker option would be unnecessary, I just farm iron and sell steel ingots, they're the highest lvl that can be made without using acid. Sure, it might take a bit longer, but you'll get there either way and you can save the perk point for something useful.

What do you mean? Weapons? I have the legendary burn lmg at T5 +10, other weapon is a sniper that I don't really care enough about to lvl up. My armor is all T5 at +4.
