How Do I Smelt Stardust Ore?
Every 'walkthrough' website, in a rush to copy/paste each other without doing the bare minimum of research, lack this important step.

Seriously. They all say 'Refine Startrace ore at your electric furnace' but they all leave out what freaking Memetic you need to do this!
Since the lazy prigs who make those 'helpful' sites all just copy each other and vomit out whatever they can ASAP without actually checking to see if the info is useful. -.-

Yes, I am a bit salty.

Seriously, just ask someone from your hive or warband to refine it for you. They can give you the stardust source.
This is not the major issue that you make it out to be. Teamwork makes the dream work, my friend.

RNG usually applies to drops alone, not key specs that can make your time in game easier. As for "teamwork" how about no. Sure pug a team for dungeon farms, but as for being forced to build a hive in order to gain access to a single perk... That is just bad game design. It could easily be fixed by allowing you to select all perks available from the category at a specific level and not just 1 from the list. Also weekly vendor money caps could be set as daily limits to reduce the fact that if you get one specific perk you are set, if you don't "welp tough luck try again in 6 weeks" as some specs will make you rich and others are completely useless.

This game was build and designed with groups/communities ie "Hives" in mind not "That one solo player"

given the games friend and pvp is broken (playing on an asian server as an OCE has its issues too) mechanics like these are broken. Anyhow plenty of Stardust Source around. I got 8000 just sitting there from all the morphic crates.

I didn't have any when I started. I don't like to join randoms. Just not my scene. But, after 2 days of watching chat for the adults in the room (found an entire group of them) I asked one of the more knowledgeable players where they were talking about. They messaged me, took me to get some Chip Sets, and we got in discord where he invited me to the Warband. If an old, grumpy guy who hates talking to Reddit kids can make a few new friends, I'm sure all you can too. That's no excuse. Try again.

This, right here.

No specialization is mandatory. All they do is help in various situations. Pick the one you can best utilize and keep moving. Stop trying to Min/Max everything when it'll all vanish in a few more weeks.

So, i was searching for that and what i find is, if you reset the option you get after lvl 40, it will appear the oil processing specialization. Note that i have super refinary as my first specialization. Hope this help!

You trade it for Source. There is no "solo" in this game unless you really just want the ultimate Hard Mode.. because eventually you need others. I say this as someone that plays every single MMO "solo". Try as I might I always get pulled into working with others.

Oh, and then there's the Workshop Defense events that give me a grip of Source every day. Those I can solo. Or Silos, I can solo those as well. But if I want a big dump of Source I hit up chat and unload stacks of Ore to whoever will exchange it.

This is easy.

I was completely solo last season and had absolutely no problems getting everything I needed from the community through commerce. The RNG is there to promote social play
