This game was build and designed with groups/communities ie "Hives" in mind not "That one solo player"
This, right here.
No specialization is mandatory. All they do is help in various situations. Pick the one you can best utilize and keep moving. Stop trying to Min/Max everything when it'll all vanish in a few more weeks.
Oh, and then there's the Workshop Defense events that give me a grip of Source every day. Those I can solo. Or Silos, I can solo those as well. But if I want a big dump of Source I hit up chat and unload stacks of Ore to whoever will exchange it.
This is easy.
I was completely solo last season and had absolutely no problems getting everything I needed from the community through commerce. The RNG is there to promote social play
