Why Waiting for Phase 6 is the Best Choice
After waiting for Phase 3, I've come to the conclusion that it’s better to just wait for Phase 6 or the final part of each season. Why? Because P3 is a joke. Instead of more content, we're stuck with a limited area, quests you can't complete, and "hard mode" dungeons you can literally melt naked and in solo. Total letdown.

The early phases are nothing but frustrating gatekeeping. Content is fragmented, locked behind pointless quests, making it impossible to fully explore the game. By the time everything is available, you're already over it.

I know this will deeply hurt the classic fan-boys who'll rush in to complain and defend the game, proclaiming its greatness forever, probably pointing out that it's a free game. They might also say, "Yeah, touch grass, you don't have to play it so much." Well, guess what? You can clear the weekly content in literally 4 hours.

Game developers need to stop targeting casual players. Casuals are just here to ride whatever hype train is in town and will jump ship as soon as the next shiny thing comes along. Games should be built for the hardcore community first, who actually stick around and support the game long-term. Just throw casuals a bone to keep them busy before they inevitably move on to the next trend.

Let’s be real: with this realization, this game is dying before the season even ends. Save yourself the headache and wait for P6 when the game is actually worth playing. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time.

So many doomers... You know you aren't required to play just one game and only one game until completion right? If you want to stop playing this one for a few weeks and come back, you can go ahead and do that. I mean, you are the one who did 120+ hours on a game in the first week and a half instead of spreading that gameplay out over multiple weeks while playing other things you enjoy or *gasp* have a job. Go play No Mans Sky or some ♥♥♥♥ in the meantime and grab some fresh air before coming back.

It's not about needing to play just one game or having to spread out gameplay; it's about the quality and depth of content that was promised versus what's actually delivered. Investing time in a game only to find it falls short is frustrating, especially when the issues are systemic and not just a matter of pacing.

In my post, I predicted that someone would come along and reply in an offensive or dismissive manner, and here we are. Telling people to play something else or implying they don't have a life outside the game doesn't really address the core concerns I have.

Good luck to you and the quest you are on. I hope you get everything that you are hoping for. This place is surely the best place to place this feedback and criticism. /s

Oh, and if you make a post on a discussion board anywhere, you will get people just as opinionated as you are. So don't act like you are some kinda prophet just because you correctly assumed someone would decide not to "address your concerns".

You've played the game 12 hours a day for the last 10 days.

Clearly you enjoyed the game enough for those hours to keep playing continuously for so long when you knew that things would be done in weekly phases. I'm not being dismissive, I'm pointing out just how ridiculous and entitled you are.

I like the fact that this game does not have massive commitment demands like most MMOs. I like the fact that I can just play something else for a few weeks and come back without the feeling of needing to play catch-up with content or players just to do anything that was recently added. Even if I get bored out of my mind with the current season, I will likely look at following seasons just because I can start fresh with everyone else. People do have jobs, other games, life responsibilities. A game that respects people's time, and understands that people will play other games is a big win from where I'm sitting. And if it does become some microtranactioned, grindy, toxic game experience, then no loss since there are other things to play these days.

I appreciate the good luck wishes, even if they come with a dose of sarcasm. The point of my original post was to highlight issues with the game that many players are experiencing, not to act as a prophet. It's expected that there will be differing opinions on a discussion board, but that doesn't mean we can't have a constructive conversation about the game's content and what can be improved. Dismissing concerns with sarcasm doesn't help anyone; addressing the actual feedback does.

Phase 3 is indeed a joke. No new area. Instead we got "hard mode" for silos. I don't even mention prime war hard mode since it is a waste of time of ressources right now, even on normal. This is a live service game and if they want people to pay money they better keep em busy. The next phases won't get better btw. From now on it's basically hard mode xy gets unlocked to make you run the same content you already did with higher level enemies. I really want the game to keep a decent playerbase but I doubt this will happen.

That is their problem to worry about. But given how China and Korea have imposed limits on how much playtime a person can do a day, and a vast majority of their money comes from players in those regions, I don't see it being a major concern. Again, you're the one making the expectation that you need to be kept busy for 12 hours a day in perpetuity, and that's just simply not a realistic expectation for any company to match at launch without making their game an obnoxious grind. Companies earn more from players who play less than 20 hours a week and occasionally buy cosmetics, battlepasses, and bonuses; since those players are not taking up as many server resources. Someone playing 100 hours a week is often seen as a loss of profit unless they are consistently buying things (and usually that is not the case for the vast majority). This is the market they have designed their game for.

Things will be added and adjusted with each season. Difficulty will be adjusted. People will still check in every new season just to see what has changed and will probably buy whatever shiny cosmetics appeal to them when they do. We have only seen 2 weeks of updates and a roadmap, you cannot make any real assumptions about how the game will change in the next few months. This is a service game, things will be continually added to it by design. New content, areas, events, missions, equipment, everything takes time to produce, expecting even 20+ hours of new content to be produced for you to be kept busy with on a weekly basis is just unrealistic.

You know who they also get the most profit from? Players that buy a few cosmetics, a battle pass, play only the first few weeks when they have rented extra servers to handle the surge, and who never touch the game again because the game "lied to them about how amazing it was".

While I agree the game is casual, it is the casuals who pretty much spend the most in games, I'm not sure how you can think anything different. The mobile community will eat this up and they'll outspend us pc gamers by a wide margin.

Now that I think of it, you're totally right. It does not align with my way of thinking, so I've quite literally just uninstalled it :steamhappy:

I like this game but hate the seasonal wipes even though they make sense to clean up everything, but i fully agree with your post here, i´ve seen almost everything in 50 hours, anything left over is time gated, if this concept carrys over to all the future seasons, then i´ll probably quit and move on, i rather accept wipes over this time gated nonsense like recent Tarisland. This Game has so much potential, i hope the devs listening to the community, i really do :)

FOMO has reached the max Level here, and the Devs said: Why Seasons? Play in your own Pace - XD
