Please, devs, ignore people complaining about the reset.

I know the devs read these and I was just coming here to make a post about this: Please ignore people who say to remove the resets. I love the idea of every new season being a new story and map, and so do many of the silent players not just coming here to complain.

To anyone else reading this: the devs want to tell us a story and allow us to experience it through gameplay. The devs don't want the game to just become Ark where people become a server alpha and own it, or Rust where for 60 days you run a server. If that's not what you want you're playing the wrong game, flat out. This is not an MMORPG, this is not Ark, it is not Valheim, it is not Rust. This is a story focused multiplayer survival game. The way the seasons work are similar to the way Fortnite does their seasonal content. Please stop asking the devs to make it anything less than that, because that's what the people ACTUALLY playing the game WANT. Thank you.

people like you said the same thing to the devs of new world when they had over a million players every day. They listened, ignored the vast majority of their community and here they are, 3k daily players right around the corner from shutting down definitely.

I find it really entertaining that everyone complaining about this and saying it's a bad idea - then coming here to complain, have private profiles. Show off your in game time if you guys really think you've played enough to know what's good or bad for it and have really seen the player counts drop. Weird that most servers are getting full pop in under 48 hours for a dead game.

The problem is its not going to be a new map, its going to be 99% the same as the first time but were restarting for.... no idea why.

Not that I am bothered, the games alright but ill be bored of it before 6 weeks anyway.

There is no chance in hell we're getting a whole new map each time, which is why they basically need resets for playtime. Even a lot of the current content is just straight up missing audio files or voiceovers. Lots of localisation hasn't been done for various messages/systems/items.

While I'm not a fan of how every game is going seasonal in lieu of long term engaging content/frequent updates, it's the easiest way to keep player retention and add a bit of new content every few months.

If they add a zone or two in an update it would last a week tops before most people get bored with their 1000s of stockpiled resources.

If they reset the servers people will rebuild their bases and farm resources for a few weeks at least. Which is generally the entire point of seasonal, you build up from scratch and that results in much longer playtime. I see why this game has wipes.

As an example, people speedrun POE in a week. They'd speedrun that content in a day if they had no seasonal wipes.

Yeah I'm just parroting the rumors that they're doing a new map each season, though even if we keep the same map I still think the reset is a necessary evil. I don't think it's so much a playtime thing, seeing how other games that don't have resets have very.. unique issues. Certain players basically own each server and run it, even on PVE. I haven't seen that yet on this game and I'd like it to stay that way.

You do know people complain because they don't want it to die, and people who complain are probably still playing the game.

While some may not but there is also a bot problem on steam fourms where users use fake accounts and post positive or negative stuff in discussions then some don't even use steam fourms because they are aware of steam fourms toxicity.

If a gamer cares enough to complain the developers should read it and take it into consideration like any good developers but that doesn't mean they should do it. Only do it if they see that it can work.

All valid. I just got annoyed scrolling through this forum and only seeing hate, and wanted some positivity both to the devs and their decisions - especially since I do agree with the reset itself. Most people on my in-game server agree on the reset as well, but none are forum active.

It wont be a new map every season but if AT LEAST they rework the map enough.. let's say that a big event happens between 2 seasons a bit like Fortnite and that the said event has consequences on the shape of the map, the type of enemies or random events, etc. Ok why not.

I hope it's not just asking players to replay the exact same content every 6 weeks. I'm for the wipe but only if stuff is new enough to make it interesting.

Its always the vocal minority, People who don't understand the entire concept of seasons and the game in general.
Their not going to change their entire concept for a few people. if they quit who cares there's still plenty of others that are interested.

i love the reset idea but the thing is , i think be able to make the whole new map like this with new campaign and side quest is something undoable in 6 weeks and thats why everybody saying to remove reset
i love this game , its one of the best games right now and i played it a lot and i loved it, but here is the thing : i think they need to add content not removing or reseting anything , think about this like additive content , like what other MMOs done. if they adding new map , new story and campaign with your existing one , i think its a good idea but reseting the whole thing is like ... i dont like it because imagine you wanna play this huge map over and over again , so you gonna find copper silver and other ♥♥♥♥♥ again for nothing , but if they add more content more map and more story like a f... dlc i think this game will be the best mmo out there , and i really think this game devs are listening , i mean they care so i hope they listen to this too.

Yeah if I have to redo the same story every few months I'm gonna be pissed. So long as it's a new story, or if they add story, I'll be happy though.

The problem is not the reset. It's the 6 week. That's the shortest seasonal wipes ever
