Why is Curiosity Catcher 3 less useful than Curiosity Catcher 2 and 1?
The first curiosity catcher shows ONLY copper and tin ore, which is useful if you're looking for those two ores. The second version shows ONLY iron and aluminum, which again is useful if you're looking for those particular ores. The third version? I thought it'd show tungsten, silver, and gold in particular. Nope! Shows EVERYTHING, and the little ore icons that show up aren't even colour-coded. You're looking for tungsten in your area? Too bad, the little ore icons were hovering over copper. Looking for aluminum? Nope; here's some tin.

Why are the first and second versions of the Curiosity Catcher more useful than the third? At least with first/second versions I can hone in on particular ore types if I need them.

I guess what I'm saying is that the devs SHOULD colour-code the ore icons that show up with the CC3. That way you could look around and not only see WHERE ore is, but WHAT the ore is.

I just unlocked CC3 and came to same conclusion. At this moment CC3 is waste of points and not worth unlocking.

I wondered why they aren't simply upgrades of the previous, doing everything the old one does and more. Now that I see your issue, seems like a nightmare. Wish we could calibrate it for specific types.
