I understand your trauma with open PvP.
You see, the issue isn't about "fair" PvP or anything like that. It might be more of a seasonal problem, but what we're talking about is the fact that on a PvP server, there's barely any PvP happening. The point is different.
Entering PvP mode is troublesome because the flag disappears within a few dozen seconds.
To explain it in GTA Online terms, it's like being forced back into passive mode every few seconds lol.
Lol, long-term Eve Online player here, with several thousand hours in PvP over the years. That game can cost real money lost if your ship is destroyed, and you're carrying cargo purchased with real money. It's the only game that ever got PvP right, and today's inferior PvP players would doubtless run screaming to mummy and daddy if they gave it a try. Over the last couple of decades I have played and enjoyed a lot of PvP games, going back as far as Everquest's Rallos Zek PvP server.
People don't WANT to do PvP on the Once Human PvP servers, that's their choice and they can decide not to for whatever reason suits them. This is fine because they can play however they like. It's the old "lead a horse to water" thing. Even PvP players don't want to flag for PvP, probably because they can't gank lowbies or raid bases, and because the servers wipe regularly. If they really love PvP as much as they say they do, they make the effort and find PvP. They could easily find people to engage in PvP by saying in Chat, "Hey guys, is anyone interested in meeting up at [place name], flagging up for PvP and engaging in some shooting up of each other?"... They're not, though, are they. What a lack of commitment, eh! 😄
You either get a structured system that has restrictions but works or you end up with an empty wasteland noone wants to go near. Games are entertainment and escapism which is why the majority of people prefer to primarily engage in PVE and maybe dip into pvp if the mood takes them..
me and my friends already dropped it. we are barely meeting players, and even with pvp toggled on, nobody else has it toggled on that you meet. so there's no point in playing if you're in it for pvp
Pvp not that popular? In a shooter game? I'd like to share with you some interesting small name titles that show how much of an idiot this statement is.
Battlefield (There's about 10 games)
Call of duty (There's about 20 games)
Halo (There's about 8 games)
Battlebits (Newish)
A little known title very few people have ever played: Fortnite.
Another little known title very few people have ever played: Counter Strike
These playerbases only add up to about 3 billion players, which is 1/3 of the planet roughly. Granted some of them are probably the same people on multiple games.
So 1 in 3 people prefers pvp shooters.
I assume 1 in 3 people like to be outside.
1 in 3 people are old people.
So that appear to be almost 100% of the actual community that plays videogames appears to be interested in pvp shooting games to some degree.
I'm so glad we have you, to point out that nobody likes pvp games.
Thank god the shills and fake news have been erased from public forums in 2025.
