not even one real PVP server?
Where are the real PVP servers, I mean the real ones. Why is there no real PVP in the game?

I activate PVP and have to wait until someone else also activates PVP? Please what? Why are these servers even marked as PVP, that's PVE.

I can only attack players under certain conditions, that has nothing to do with real PVP
I can't attack players' bases, why do you even need walls in the game, or base defenses?

Why do we have countless PVE servers and not a single, NOT a single real PVP server?

Because PvP just isn't that popular, despite all the little Combat Wombats saying it is. There's always endless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it "not being fair" because rubes who think they can survive solo get hammered into the ground by higher-level players. Little guilds (warbands or whatever) howl that the bigger guilds are crushing them and that guild sizes should be limited. Then there's the crowd that are outraged when they get raided offline and tearfully complain "that's not REAL PvP!"... The PvP player ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ never ends.

Honestly, I think this company should be applauded for avoiding the entire shambolic issue and the fallout it causes. If people aren't flagging themselves for PvP it's obvious they don't want "traditional" PvP. Oh, and the fortifications are needed when you have to defend your base while extracting Dust or something. It attracts mobs, apparently.

Bro whoever came up with this PVP design of toggling should be fired or atleast there should've been more PVP zones with good rewards so people can pvp more. In all these 8 days of playing this game because they LOCKED the server i am on and saying its full i barely see any players. Once alot of people get to end game craft there armor to max / weapons all will release how boring this game is no actual end game except you waiting for starchrom each week. PVE is a joke go to level 60 zone as 50 with maxed out gear and you can tank them...

It was the community that demanded the changes in PvP.

No one wants to play an MMO while looking over their shoulder.

There is no actual end game its the same community who is crying about no wipes. How boring would that be the game currently only has like 60-100 hours of gameplay and that is not bad at all for a f2p game but what are these people doing in PVE servers just standing around there base doing nothing because holy hell there is nothing end game.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Read the Season description. It's intended, since states: "low, beginner-friendly difficulty" overall. I assume, they've decided to start user-friendly and then adding the difficulty gradually. We'll see soon enough. :happy_yeti:

On a secondary note, the game handed wannabe PvP players just about EVERYTHING they ever said they wanted in PvP, on a plate. No PvP if you are busy doing things (building, missions, whatever) and don't want to be constantly looking over your shoulder or getting your base offline raided. PvP at any time you like, when you're fully geared up and prepared for it at all other times, if you flag yourself, remain flagged and are itching a fight with like-minded others. In a way, it's the only "fair" PvP system that I ever recall seeing AFAIK, or at least as close to the concept as they can get...

...and quite clearly the vast majority of PvP players in this game don't want to use it. It should be their idea of PvP heaven!! You'd think PvP carnage would be EVERYWHERE for the entire 6 weeks, but demonstrably it isn't. I mean, what the hell DO they want? Seems like it's the good old ambushing of lower-level players, wiping out weaker guilds (or whatever they're called in specific games) and offline raiding. It's almost funny.

You are correct the only issue is though alot of pve enjoyers also joint PvP knowing they have to flag to take part. It isn't fun running around when 1 out of 3 people may be flagged. I think a good fix would be merge servers then have PvP worlds within them that is always flagged let people pick on a given day which they prefer.

Due to your linear thought pattern, it is obvious why you do not understand. The same way you swear there is no content but have 87 hours.

Yes, this is also a good system, which I liked about Eve Online many, many years ago. There are "safe" sectors in space (nowhere is guaranteed 100% safe, though) and you know full well that if you enter a lawless sector - to get resources, for example - you are potential prey, and a predator could come along at any time.

Other games have done a broadly similar thing over the years, featuring zones that contained really good stuff, higher XP and which gave more vanilla resources too. Venture in, and everyone knows what could happen.

Even that never really gained as much traction as it deserved because, fundamentally, a lot of PvP players don't really want to attack people who are geared up and fully expecting combat at any moment. The other side of that coin was that PvE players thought, "sod the otherwise tempting goodies in there. I can make do without them and just keep grinding".

Games that feature 100% PvP never seem to get thriving populations, either. Honestly, I reiterate, what the hell do PvP players want there days? 🙂

Most people that want full PvP just want to gank or zerg most don't even hide that lol. I'm one that likes to chill some days then PvP on others aslong as PvP isn't forced then all is well, definitely some tweaks could be made to make both sides happy.

For the longest time, I have been strictly PvE in my MMOs/Live service games. But recently I tried some instanced PvP in Tarisland and come to enjoy it due to the instanced and small groups.

As for any PvP shooter, I am am terrible at it. My oldest would carry me and our whole team in any shooter game. But I enjoy the PvE shooter. That's why I am here.
Ardven Jul 19, 2024 @ 4:21am
This is not a PVP focused game.
It's an MMO and just like every other MMO PVP is Toggle, Event and some Areas only.
This is common in every MMO.
This game may have survival mechanics but at its core it's an MMO therefore full loot PVP is not an option due to the Live Service nature of MMOs.
Noxsa Jul 19, 2024 @ 4:26am
i don't mind "opt-in" pvp but one does wonder why they can't do that on the PvE servers then, if its "opt-in" anyways.
ohwell, i don't PvP, i hate it and yes its a skill issue, i'm old i like to play games at my own speed, and i HATE getting killed by a no-lifer and so wasting my time and progress.

in case you have no idea what a NO-LIFER is, someone with no life and dedicates it to the game instead, a 24/7 kid as of sorts. one who plays so much he's done all the contents in a week.

I think there is alot to enjoy in PvP depending on how it's incorporated. alot just see survival and mmo's genres and think negatively about PvP and rightly so, I absolutely despise offline raiding in most survival games and is why I stopped playing them. I do enjoy shooters though but ofcourse it's better when everyone is on a level playing field with gear.
