I'm at the desert Zone (level 43), my base was not far of the Level40 boss.
I travel around the map in every camps (desert to first zone).
After all that in 1 hour, I seen maybe 6 players.
I think this is part of it but I feel like the game has some kind of instanced player thing going on like when you see ghosts in Souls games. Even if I go back to the starting area now (I'm level 47 I think) I'll see like a small handful of people at most. Just speculating though.
But how it's possible to see this little amount. For example on a map with 2000 players, you cannot take one road without seeing players. Nobody in every boss area (I see all), I'm alone in city and I don't talk about the desert (I gone in 20-30 level area). To be honest, in the desert camps and around I seen 2 players, camps level 35 only 3 players, camps 20-25 only 1 player, and the time I travel to go in any camps maybe 3 players.
I don't understand.
Literally like me, and my server have medium population, it's impossible to see this amount
I just hope this game survives whatever is going on with the patch. I love this game. I haven't enjoyed an MMO in a long time.
I don't think or nobody talk with these 150k players
In my server people talking of course, but it take 10 to 50sec for any new message on chat.
If its all server chat it supposed to be worst than a twitch with 3000 viewers xd
I also heard that the servers will show a low, medium, or high population and that includes offline players as well. So, even players who are offline and not playing are included. If there are a lot of people coming to check the game out and then deciding they do not like the game, their character's spot on a server is there and exaggerating the number of actual active players who are on at any given time.
That might be why they are doing server restarts every 6 weeks? To get rid of inactive players? Apparently, you have to sign up for the next season or you do not get in to play. I got that message today, trying to log in and play the second time today. When I went to go sign up for the next season, there was nothing available to sign up for. I am guessing it is another patch glitch that i causing nothing to show up.
So if offline and people left the server count in stats, I understand now why we are only 40/50 players on the server
It's not normal to fake stats like that, house are everywhere (except in the desert), and nobody around.
I played BDO, on a begining village you have around 100 players on 30m2.
I will see in 6 weeks, but I'm afraid for all things I maked and my home I build to only play with few players....
Maybe when the wipe coming it can be interesting to combine server
