Pickaxe repair?

Why can I repair weapons and armour, but not my pickaxe? When the pickaxe is worn out, does it disappear? Because then I should dismantle it first and build a new one.

you are meant to replace them by crafting a new one

I agree on the simplicity of just allowing us to repair it .. Yes you can disassemble it for the parts but then why have repair damage on it at all? Its the simple things that makes players happy. I also see the damage ratio is a bit higher than most games, that makes it difficult for higher level players and people will be tired of grinding for it. . hopefully they make it less required to repair certain things and that way your not always grinding for materials . I noticed myself these past few days feeling grindy.. when I was looking for materials for my vehicles and also newer weapons.
