yea, i have a digby there, it just does nothing.
I think this means it should be exactly or a little over 60, set it to 100 and they'll do one and a half cycles then lose progress. I'm testing at 62 on most of mine, except a couple that have +30 max so they're on 122. I should say I THINK I figured it out, as it's only been a couple hours, so we'll see, but so far I got ore from every platform at least once.
Nice find! Just tried your method of changing the power activation to 60+ and I finally got some materials from my mining platform. Thanks for the tip. :)
My results so far are still wildly inconsistent so it's definitely also bugged :( Yesterday I woke up to 1-3 stacks in all my miners, today 0...
Since you can't control this manually if you have several, you don't have to put the ones with lower levels in the display cases. For me it works like that from level 3 onwards, but so far only for aluminum. They can mine tungsten even at level 3, too.
I did try with setting my digby power to 70 and they're all lv 3+.
My theories are-
1. Might stop regeistering as polluted zone once character leaves base.
2. Deviant power generators might stop working once you leave base for same reason
3. Multiple digby's on base might confuse the drill.
All in all, for whatever reason, Mining platforms are a giant waste of memes, money, and resources. I use a solar drill built from tungston and the rare ore perk on it. I can get all the ore I need easily, especially with the -80% ore weight mod. Also, the digbys left on their own bring me silver and all the iron/copper/tin I'll ever use anyhow.
So for now those platfroms get two thumbs down from me.
i got the same probleme as you. i just put the red light and the music but not the electrical power.
i try with the 3 boost + a setting at 65 and give you some news
all i said above doesnt work ... BUT ... i found something.
The plateform bug if you close the game. SO if you can , dont deconnect your caracter if possible ... i'm pretty sure that a fix is coming
I've continued to do a lot of experimentation with the stardust platforms and yeah, they're mostly a waste. Some notes from said experimentation, though:
- Oversubscribing on digbys doesn't seem to be good; I'm pretty sure the extras will do regular mining and then not have enough energy if they get used on the drill.
- Power can be an issue if you rely on eels to keep the drills running, though I've also seen them resume progress after a power outage once!
- Sitting idle in your base doesn't seem to help, actually. I fell asleep logged in one night and woke up to 0 in all the miners. This knocks out quite a few theories unless something is going on with detecting idle clients and not running the sim for them.
- I am unsure about the note regarding required levels for resources, as I can see the level 1 digbys working the drill, but haven't watched to see if they produce anything yet.
Last night was my first good overnight output from the drills since I've set them up; 7 drills and a total of 1980 startrace ore over about 6 hours (with 7 drills). One was still inexplicably empty.
