For me to enjoy it again they would need to:
1) Drop the idea of seasonal wipes. You can still have seasons without having wipes. They're called content updates - persistent MMOs do them all the time, and the good ones manage to do them without invalidating the older content.
2) Increase the game's difficulty. Nobody is suggesting Souls-level difficulty here, there is a happy medium between that and being able to successfully play while both eyes are binging shows on Netflix.
3) Fix the more annoying bugs and address the performance complaints.
From there I would personally like to see some of the game's depth and complexity return. Much of it was gutted and removed after CBT2 and the game is tragically the lesser for it.
However going to the valid points.
1. What I enjoy most: The clear quest markings and objective. What I experienced in most other asian games, was information overflow, where you were spammed with mass of informations and did not know anymore what to do, here everything is straight, you can pick something and go to. I wish when they add new content to keep it clear and simple for western audience and not make chaos.
2. I would like something like enemies capturing regions and you have to capture it again, so getting the feeling of having to conquer regions and get them back, if enemy takes them.
3. I do not understand that question of how provide them something, as I say we are the customers. Maybe a pop-up for quests and/or raids, how to rate it for feedback?
Ah yes, nearly forgot the most important thing that is personal but essential to keep me:
I will lose interest after the first wipe, so most important would be to get maybe servers without wipes.
That would be a good start.
You would, most likely, have a 30% to 50% higher player count if the seasonal wiping was removed from the grounds of NetEase along with the smooth-brain that conjured the idea.
Which ones?
The MMOs I've played have all had to compress number and level bloat to keep going.
They all eventually have some kind of partial wipe. WoW compressed levels and redid the entire talent tree multiple times.
I get not liking wipes, but be honest. Every MMO has struggled with putting out new content. They've all had to solve the forever progression problem somehow.
1. A more open communication line in favor of the best outcome between what they wanna implement and what we wanna play; I believe that they are completely entitled to their autonomy, but we need to discuss a mid term regarding the wipe, or at least a more broad explanation on what they expect to achieve with it. Maybe an accord to increase the timespan between wipes? Maybe no wipe on PVE at all? But what if they have something planned for future seasons that would fit to that? We can't know exactly where they're coming from, so a more back-and-forth communication would be special.
2. More polishing and more patching. I think the game is neat and we might have something special here, but the performance is still lacking and can undermine the experience. I hate the fact that i needed to download a Launcher from the their website in order to make the game run a little bit better; it was nothing miraculous but it was capable to make the game shine even more for me. For many people this is a real deal breaker, and rightfully so. Either way there's still some areas that fail to load and render properly, which i hear it might be tied to latency and ping, but all the servers in my area are giving high ms so, yeah, more polishing would be cool.
3. Maybe a nitpick of mine but the UI feels at sometimes cluttered and i wonder if there is a way to edit the hud elements, and if not i hope they implement in the future. The chat it's awfully big and sometimes i wish i could just hide it completely, but i didn't find a way and that sucks.
so far, that's what i believe could make the game thrive for longer, but at the end of the day, it's not we helping them, it's more we helping ourselves.
A wild guess that directly contradicts whats already been settled. You keep all BP
+ base building and base defense events are awesome i love it , it's what was lacking in fallout4/76 games so upgrading this in any way would be awesome
i think for those changes to take place in game someone from dev team should read those comments, acknowlage them and maybe send questionnaire to players to vote if they are fine f.e. with pvp servs stays with reser while pve don't
I feel you with that and i agree, but finding a place to make your settlement might get frustrating in the long run, and expanding territory will make it even harder to find space when you are a new player, so maybe they wanna scramble a little with the wipe? Can't say if it's a great idea, but who knows?
I believe there must be other ways to prevent that; maybe the fact that everyone is dropped in the same area might be something to discuss, or more servers? Actually i don't know.
WoW handles expansions in the worst way possible, in my opinion, and is not the example to be using. You should try FFXIV if you're interested in an example (and want to enjoy an MMO without this problem). Or you could try GW2 which uses horizontal progression instead of vertical. Both are great MMOs.
Separate the Use (F) key vs opening whispers. Right now unless you disable Whispers altogether in Settings, it directly interferes with opening loot (alternatively separate looting with another key?) Maybe disable the F feature of whispers, but keep it visible?
Red Events some are PvP. It should be marked as such vs non-PVP events like fishing.
