Once Human

Once Human

Pickup/Truck movable territories, what's the use for it?
Like the tittle asked, what is the use of these 2 vehicles? I unlocked them in the path for the last upgrade pieces for my bicycle, constructed the medium and big garages, crafted them, but I see no use for these things.

You can't teleport to them, the building area is very limited in it's territories and they only run in refined fuel, which is 50 units of mixed fuel per refined fuel gallon, in other words, they consumed a ridiculous amount of fuel for no purpose at all.

Has anyone understood the use for these units?

Would rlly useful if the fuel consumption wouldn't be ridiculous like this.
I put a supply bank + electric smelter + 2 chests on it. Sounds like a good farming vehicle, but nope. Only used it once and now it's standing idle at my.

I was thinking about to put a teleport door on it and put the vehicle in some good place, but nah.

I don't think anyone knows fully yet, you can mount turrets etc on the truck which would help towards the prime war and most likely other stuff in the future.

Ask yourself these question in the mirror and you'll see oh the game just came out like a week ago they might have other events, reasons in the future for more truck use.

You can put a shop on it and park a merchant-truck at a town.

Put 2 level 3 turrets on the pickup and park it at your favorite refinery, or 1 auto and the manual turret. The big hauler would have been worth the fuel if it didn't have a 2 turret limit, maybe it could work as a crafting base if it can be parked in prime war.

Maybe park a huge building at chiron, could park them both at chiron, or the refinery but the big one is stuck outside covering wherever it can fit. Can also park them both at your home for an additional 4 turrets for that converter thing.

Those things can be moved with little fuel if you're the nomad type who don't mind moving the main territory and recall them.

Has anyone tested if it can be used a portable acid and oil farm? Was going to test myself today see what can be done with it. Save moving the entire base and losing the spot I like at current. Not a big deal just to move the bas but still.

I put stores on both of them and parked one outside Deadsville and the small one inside Meyer's Marked parking lot.

It does work as I have been getting Energy Link and corn for my stuff.

Only real use I've seen in practice, is mobile shops. I guess if you're going wild on farming a particular area far from base you could cram chests all over a platform and load up on way more than you can usually carry.

Do you say using the water pump? Interesting idea, I will try it later to see if it works.

Sadly when I tried this, the only gathering & production facility listed was the planter box, no water pump or mining platforms. I was horribly disappointed. I really don't want to move my beautiful beachfront castle just for an oil well.

the only use I have found is 2 extra brewing barrels at base saving 20W of base energy

I've been using the flatbed as a mobile farm station, biofuel generator, electric furnace, drying rack, and disassembler on it. It's buggier than trying to run Doom off a floppy disk on Windows 11 though. The fact that they require barreled fuel is asinine with the current farming meta as passive fuel is next to nothing and the trucks THIRSTY. You can't place refineries on them anymore either. Turrets of any kind do NOT work on the trucks, they're 100% broken. Currently it's best use is what I'm using it for basically, drive it to a town you wanna farm, use it to break down and smelt anything you pick up and dry food while you're out and about so you don't need to tele home where your acid/oil farm is setup that frequently.

I just built a truck with 2 turrets and they kill all the deer etc I pass by. I noticed that turrets can't point down though. they can only shoot slightly below horizontal. So only put your turrets as low as possible on your truck and yeah if the enemies get too close to the truck, they still probably can't point down enough to even try to hit them.

It really sucks that you can't, I seem to recall early on in the game you could. I am not sure why they took that function out.... I don't want to move my whole entire base... atm it is fine where it's at making acid.
