As for wipes, if it doesn't wipe you will complete everything and be bored with the game. Fresh starts are good for longevity. It also gives new players a fighting chance in PVP servers. I think it will keep things more interesting depending how different the seasons will be.. we will have to see how it goes first before hating on it via speculation.
Anyway, wipes are pretty normal for this kind of game. It isn't really possible to produce enough new content before the majority of players gets bored of the end game, while at the same time fixing bugs and other issues.
Idk if the time they chose for wipes is good or not just yet, maybe it should be increased a bit, but without wipes they are just gonna end up with a saturated player base that is bored of the game.
What this game really needs is community servers that are separate from the official ones, like pretty much any other game of this kind has. This would 100% fix the wipe issue...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen a single thing that would be impossible to implement if they had community servers.
And they can still enforce the micro transactions and battle pass stuff even on community servers, Conan Exiles does that so I don't see why not....
For now, i will just enjoy the first season while waiting for Throne and Liberty
but for those who enjoys it, you are in a good hand
I can mark this off of my Once Human bingo card. AGAIN.
Seriously, the devs have made MULTIPLE announcements across varying platforms addressing this issue.
You don't lose everything. The good stuff is carried over. You'll have the blueprints for your equipment. All you need to do is level and get resources. And that's easy as ♥♥♥♥.
Not only that, but the wipes tie into the lore of the story, as well.
Uncontrollable Deviants wiping out the world and forcing us to start anew in another attempt to defeat them.
A living, breathing world shaped by the players.
And here you are complaining about being a part of it.
Well, there's a ton of other free games you can play. Or, get yourself a part time job and save your pennies for that $70 AAA title your friends at school told you about.
Good luck.
new world, new story, new quests, new map in whole. your level is reset, its like playing a new game every season, all your blueprints and paid items will carry over, you need to start a whole play through each season.
think of it as a tv series, season 1- story 1, season 2- story 2.
people wont like it due to the hard work on your base, your level grind and all will be gone, however its a whole new season and a whole new story.
im mixed on it, i dont want it but lets see how it goes...
I was playing for hours, and now, I don't see why. Thinking on uninstalling it to be real, as I'll not make it all by the wipe, I have limited time to play games nowadays, so, this wipe scheme is no good for me.
If I play much, will be this season only. Then, bye.
Q: Will I lose all my rewards and items when a season ends? If not, which items will I keep?
A: At the end of a season, you get to keep important resources like Blueprints, Cosmetics, Furniture Formulas, and Weapon Accessories.
However, common resources, weapons, and items will be transferred to your personal domain, Eternaland, to maintain fairness. Some resources in Eternaland can be carried over to a new season, while others can be used to construct your personal domain.[i/]
It will take next to no time to get back to the level you were with that kind of head start.
This question can be answered relatively easily:
Because I'm a PVE player and I don't want to have anything to do with the PVP players under ANY circumstances! Point!
If the rules don't stay that way, then I, the PVE player, will turn my back on this game.
And since an estimated 70 to 80% of current players think the same way, the developer won't change a damn to avoid alienating its paying customers.
Has this stupid question that recurs in every game now been fully answered? It would actually have been relatively easy to answer yourself if you had switched on the organ inside the skull for 2 minutes.
As a guiding principle to remember: A PVE player doesn't want to play PVP.
big point- some people put hours and time into a game and dont want it wiped
now who cares if my gun blueprint carrries over, if my house i spent ages building gets wiped and i have to start again- this is a big point players are making.
now i had this view i hate the wipe i no play the game, however i played and it makes sense alongside its pretty fun- if all your missions and tasks have items that carry over its good, we just have to see.
