Does anyone else have this issue? Its driving me crazy!!!

The game will auto switch my weapons even in the middle of combat, it is very frustrating because I will be using my gun and then all the sudden it will switch to my melee weapon or crossbow and cause me to take more damage or even die on some occassions. This is very frustrating.

I checked the keybindings and I guess scrolling with the mouse wheel is supposed to change equipped weapons and I wont be doing that for it to switch. Even me just walking around the map my weapons are almost constantly switching. I don't know what is going on but if anyone knows what could be causing this please let me know.

Try swapping the control so it doesn't use mouse wheel to switch. If it persists in doing that then maybe there is a secondary key for cycling weapons. Otherwise if it doesn't persist then it sounds like your mousewheel might be starting to go.

I've tried clearing the shortcut in the keybindings but it's greyed out so it wont even let me do that. I don't think it's my mousewheel because I don't have a problem in any other game or even just general computer tasks. I'm not sure whats going on but it doesnt just switch if im just standing still or anything just when im moving around it seems to want to switch weapons, like if im running around or just going into buildings from room to room it will just switch weapons on me.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem. I thought it was my mouse wheel being too sensitive (I have a brand new Razer Naga V2 Pro) so as an experiment, I tabbed out of the game and started browsing YouTube on another monitor while I refined some fuel (so the game wasn't receiving any mouse input) and I could see my character standing still in my house, swapping between weapons every 20ish seconds.

It's not a game breaker, but it's still frustrating when I'm having fun bashing heads in with my bat and then it randomly switches to my sniper.

Yeah swapping weaps is a bit clunky and need some fixing. I often have it where i swap to melee, I hit left mouse click to hit,and it just auto swaps back to pistol and shoots instead.

I've honestly had the opposite happen to me, trying to swap a weapon and it refuse to swap in a panic when trying to get out my melee (I always forget there's a quick cast option for melee)

What mouse do you have? If it's one of the higher-end Logitech ones you can disable the scroll wheel in the game profile in the G-Hub software. Other manufacturers may have similar software.

maybe your mouse wheel is going to ♥♥♥♥ but also it depends on server lag which is why its so annoying mine does this too but only when im afking it doesnt do it when im actually moving around and shooting stuff so i dunno

I have the same problem. I will be in meleb and suddenly switch to the Sniper Rifle, and be too slow. It's gotten me killed several times.

I have also had it swap weapons when I wasn't touching the mouse or the keyboard.

It is very frustrating.

I was fighting a boss and it switched mid combat to my fishing pole and I couldn't mouse wheel, hot key or anything. Had to go to my gear and switch weapons lol Was crazy but hey, It's not a finished game so I just laughed and went with it. It is annoying but I am sure they will fix it.

i'm glad im not the only one having this problem, it sucks and I hope they patch that out or at least allow me to disable weapon switching with the mouse in a future update. Or with controller support which I have tried but I havent found an optimal controller layout to use it regularly yet

My mouse wheel caused it. I can switch from free wheel to single rotation. In free wheel it woul switch weapons all the time.

It happens to me when I spin the view around to see what's around me, but I am not touching the mouse wheel... very annoying. I restored my settings to default to see if that would help, but nope. This just started happening for me recently, in the last couple of days.

use your mouse software to rebind the scroll keys to keybind input. If your mouse software doesn't support it, use other programs like x-mouse
