The Energy Link curreny
... is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic and needs to go

I can't craft.

I can't upgrade.

I can't unlock new buildings.

I can't even port.

Devs, if you for some reason you feel, you have to include a gatch game stamina mechanic, at least offer free refills daily like those games do.

Thats not Stamina, it's a currency. You can sell things for energy and also earn them with a lot of activities

There are plenty of game play methods to gain it, I'm at tier full tier 4 with 50k energy, I'd suggest looking into it before you yap your ♥♥♥♥ opinion.

You can get Energy Links easily by exploring and opening chests, doing missions, selling stuff to merchants in the settlements. Their gacha currency can only be obtained via gameplay so seems fair to me.

I did not really focus on building my base much, just the bare minimum, until I was able to farm for the mats and the energy links. So I really suggest you explore more and do missions first before focusing on making your base(run silos too). Once you're able to unlock the ability to create gold and silver ingots (you can get the ores in higher lvl maps), you can sell them for more energy links to merchants. If you're struggling, I hope you have a friend code with a good weapon for you to use to help you plow through the nub areas a bit faster.

You can obtain energy links in so many different ways. It's literally just money and works just like money does in any other game. Go kill some stuff, do a dungeon and sell loot, do a public event, kill a monolith boss, knock out some side quests. Especially when you get to the endgame areas, you can find you go from 2k to 60k real quick. If you are lucky enough to get a rare memetic specialization, you'll never go broke. If not, it still isn't hard.

Maybe dont spend everything? IRL you also dont spend all your money right? Dont calibrate every weapon you get, does not make sense and saves alot of currency.

As mentioned, this is NOT Stamina-based. It is energy currency. You do get them given for completing missions, etc., and as loot. You can earn them like this...

1) Early on, sell Backpack Expansions at 300 Energy Links each. Easy to make, costing only 10 Metal Scraps, 10 Rawhide and 15 Rubber for the Backpack Expansion.

2) If you get the lvl 4 Mimetic Specialization: Combo Chipset, you can make those and sell them for 12,000 Energy Links each. Pretty easily made, using 10 Standard Parts, 20 Metal Scrap and 30 Electronics each. Well worth making them!

3) If you get the lvl 5 Mimetic Specialization: Precious Metal Refining, sell Silver Ingots at 6,000 Energy Links each. (I haven't found Gold yet.) Silver is quite scarce at first, to say the least!

You can craft basic items that you can sell for energy, its not that hard to gather up a premium of energy.

I'm constantly porting, upgrading and building and I'm sitting at 80k+ Link

If you feel like you "dont get enough" you can literally collect 3500 Iron Ore within 15 minutes, smelt ignots and sell it for 15.000 Link

It's useful selling them in the early levels, isn't it. It's not mega-bucks, but sell 3 or 4, and you can do OK until you get those Mimetic Specializations. There's an element of randomness about what 4 Specializations you are offered, but with luck, or a reset point spent you might get lucky. 🙂 The best one is the Combo Chipset, which sells for twice what Silver Ingots bring, plus the chipsets are much easier to make.
