Controller Support
My hands are stupid, therefore I am unable to play with keyboard and mouse. Please do soon, this game looks awesome!

That would definitely be welcome for this sort of game

Yeah, that's typically my biggest issue with having to use KBM on a game like this. Not a dealbreaker or unworkable, but just a bit of an annoyance that could be alleviated by proper controller support.

i set one up with steam. you have to start steam as Admin for it to work. xbox elite controller is smooth for the most part, just finding the right mapping takes some time. still have KBM close for some things. there is some setups people shared that might work for you. i hope if they do have controller i can choose my steam controller to work i have some auto loot buttons set up i want to keep.

Controller support is planned but I don't have an ETA on when the patch for controller support will launch.

Check patch notes for August 15th's patch to see if its included when patch notes go live.

it would also be nice if the developers made everyone aware of all patches and future changes on all social medias instead of purely just their discord

Seems the august patch it's not gonna include the full controller support, because the big update has run and zero mention.

I guess this is another example of talk before work. Create a false expectation for many players and lost credibility. The previous post schedule said clearly "early august" so...

Hope they make it before the end of the month.

You absolutely can RIGHT NOW if you use a good steam input layout. I just uploaded an updated version for dualshock4, xbox360, and steam deck, all tested and working steam://controllerconfig/2139460/3308077433

me and my friends have been doing it for weeks now but if you're sick of hearing me talk about it you can try somebody else's layout. There's plenty to choose from

steam gave us these tools for a reason

How are you even going to fit all these keybinds and inputs? My Controller fig has to dedicate L1 to a keybind hotkey modifier so I can get more inputs out of the button. Works pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well. essentially it sacrifices 1 physical button's functionality to have each button on the controller perform as a keybind. The tricky part is making the inputs "make sense";

X on controller being spacebar, but with L1 held becomes F. Helps to avoid accidental whisper prompts as well.

It's not your hand. It's your mind. And you can fix that with practice.

make sprint an outer ring command on the left stick and put crouch on L3 like how third person action games used to do before call of doody

Give the right stick a sensitivity over 400 and a nonlinear response curve with 1% deadzone and put melee on R3 like it's supposed to be

tap L2 for Spacetime, hold L2 for command wheel and deviant wheel goes on R2. That was L2 and R2 cycles tabs left and right in menus

aim and fire go on L1 and R1 because let's face it, the "trigger" fad is past its expiration date and they never felt like "triggers" in the first place. More like a gas pedal and a brake

square is interact and doublepress to reload

singlepress triangle for primary weapon, doublepress for secondary, hold for melee

press circle to roll, hold circle to cancel

x is jump and glide

select is the map and quest menus, start is the inventory and stuff menus

And if you want to avoid reading whispers then turn them off in the options menu :) imho they should be invisible unless you use spacetime to scan for them
some of you younger folks or ones newer to playing on pc missed out on Pinnacle Gaming Profiler... that made my bounty Hunter fun as heck when The Old Republic game came out, and the same with some of my Guild Wars 2 characters. RIP tot he creator, who died late last decade. A lot of what folk take for granted in Steam input PGP did about 10 or 15 years before it was even in beta and did some the management of large amounts of keybounds alittle better imho. It also had one of the coolest kind of license setups I seen lol.

I don't know why Steam Input is so underrated. Maybe it's unclear how you're supposed to enter a steam url?

It may vary from one operating system to the next but the one thing that always works is to paste it in a steam message to yourself or somebody else and then click on it
