Check patch notes for August 15th's patch to see if its included when patch notes go live.
I guess this is another example of talk before work. Create a false expectation for many players and lost credibility. The previous post schedule said clearly "early august" so...
Hope they make it before the end of the month.
You absolutely can RIGHT NOW if you use a good steam input layout. I just uploaded an updated version for dualshock4, xbox360, and steam deck, all tested and working steam://controllerconfig/2139460/3308077433
me and my friends have been doing it for weeks now but if you're sick of hearing me talk about it you can try somebody else's layout. There's plenty to choose from
steam gave us these tools for a reason
X on controller being spacebar, but with L1 held becomes F. Helps to avoid accidental whisper prompts as well.
https://imgur.com/a/iUIdD3p
make sprint an outer ring command on the left stick and put crouch on L3 like how third person action games used to do before call of doody
Give the right stick a sensitivity over 400 and a nonlinear response curve with 1% deadzone and put melee on R3 like it's supposed to be
tap L2 for Spacetime, hold L2 for command wheel and deviant wheel goes on R2. That was L2 and R2 cycles tabs left and right in menus
aim and fire go on L1 and R1 because let's face it, the "trigger" fad is past its expiration date and they never felt like "triggers" in the first place. More like a gas pedal and a brake
square is interact and doublepress to reload
singlepress triangle for primary weapon, doublepress for secondary, hold for melee
press circle to roll, hold circle to cancel
x is jump and glide
select is the map and quest menus, start is the inventory and stuff menus
And if you want to avoid reading whispers then turn them off in the options menu :) imho they should be invisible unless you use spacetime to scan for them
I don't know why Steam Input is so underrated. Maybe it's unclear how you're supposed to enter a steam url?
It may vary from one operating system to the next but the one thing that always works is to paste it in a steam message to yourself or somebody else and then click on it
