Alternative source for Portable Mixed fuel?
I have the Memetic Specialization "Oil Processing" which allows me to make Stardust Source at my Electric Furnace using Portable Mixed Fuel and Stardust Ore. I live on the boundary of a polluted zone and so I have thousands upon thousands of Stardust Ore, but I have virtually no Fuel. I used to keep some around for my motorcycle, but now that I've started making Stardust Source, I'm all out of fuel and I don't look forward to farming vehicle trunks for more, is there a better source for this fuel?

Thanks for any insights or suggestions.

Fastest way is to do these two things simultaneously:
1) have your base near oil patches somewhere in Red Sands. Water Pumps to get crude oil out of the ground and the refineries to transform it into Portable Mixed Fuel.
2) Travel on side roads and take the fuel from cars

Quickest way, look for cars stalled along roads and loot the trunk. Refinery cards and the mist zone events will also get you fuel.

Slow way is to team up with someone on the border of an oil field and exchange fuel for stardust.

Move your base to an area where you can pump crude oil out of the ground (see Youtube tutorials how to find those spots) and leave it there. Return to polluted area to farm for Stardust Ore as often as you like.

The oil route is painfully slow also. With 1 pump and 2 refineries I'm always out of portable fuel because I'm making the barreled fuel from it.

I came across a base yesterday where a guy had like 20 refineries going, so of course you could scale it up. Only PITA is that you can't connect a pump to a refinery... you have to manually grab the crude oil and put it in the refinery.

I've got three water pumps running to collect crude oil.
One pump isn't sufficient for anything but dirty water.
Whether you're doing crude oil for gasoline or polluted water for acid, you need multiples running to get a decent amount.

And yeah, you can't plumb from a pump to a refinery, but the bigger problem is that you can't pump oil from a pump to a water storage box. It just sits in the pump and doesn't go anywhere, so your pump will quickly (... sort of) fill up with oil and then stop working.

So you DEFINATELY need to have multiple of them running.
