Do other players get rewards if they help with a base defense?
Started a purification for the first time, and pretty much as soon as I started, another dude appeared out of no where and helps me clear the whole thing. After it finished, he bowed and drove away on his motorcycle like a badass. Did he also get rewards or was he just helping for the sake of it?

The latter. I think you only get rewards if in the same Hive. Nice!

You wouldn't necessarily want to burn your cortex uses to help with a lower level one anyway
