Everything is fairly easy until you hit lvl50, then they spring 4 player and level 60 stuff on you, but you only know it's that when you actually travel there, just looking on the map it'll say lvl 50. This is where ive given up playing after spending 70 odd hours doing everything BY MYSELF. It was fun while it lasted, especially for free.
For the spider boss fight, for me the trick was not getting greedy with damage. Constantly run in circles, take pot shots with your highest powered weapon (in my case, a gulped vore sniper) when you have a free 3/4ths of a second, and pause (while still moving) to clear out spiders every now and then. I tend to stick to a Jaws pistol for my secondary, as it's usually a one-shot-one-kill on the spiders. A lot of players seem to prefer rifles though, so it's up to preference. If you have Epic+ weapons, then extra damage from things like unstable bomber and power surge can help as well. I also used my frost jelly to lay on the damage multiple times - great little critter to sneak in some damage when you're dealing with eggs and baby spiders.
I have found a huge power spike with deviant items. Living armor is a huuuuge one. You take it, and while it is active if your health drops too low you will heal. it has a cool down, but you can trigger it more than once with just one potion. Another great one is the weaver. it roots adds for a long time. (which isn't fair because you don't get that until after killing spider boss) Spring legs is also great, but I have to buy that one, so that's just if I can find one if a vending machine.
There is also items from molotovs, to drones, to turrents, to long term activators, there's also the stardust regulator, which is a memetic specialization, that is basically an activator with 15 uses that also gives you a shield, on a separate cool down from activators. Food that buffs your build, gives you more health, drinks than make you double jump (pars awesome with spring legs) and sometimes if you jump around high enough you can get out of range of all the enemies and get a kill with little effort.
I try to avoid guides and figure things out myself, but it is always an option to get a step by step guide to painlessly kill a boss.
I solo'ed all the bosses untill i got to the Doggo. I did get close to defeating it, so i think it would be possible, but when you are the only thing in the arena it has to target, it gets rough..
Tried again with another player the next day, and just the fact that it had more than one person to agro on made the fight infinately easier.
As for the spider fight, hiding behind the central pillar is a choice idea, and very importantly, you really want to pay attention to the boils it sprouts on it's back, because those are the weakspots, you want to hit those any chance you get.
And don't be afraid to ask for help in chat. Just write "hey i'm stuck on the spider boss, does someone want to give me a hand with it?", and chances are that someone will.
I've helped out several players with bosses in this way, and other players have helped me out like this aswell.
That goes without saying. If he's on the spider boss, then he's what, level 30 something? Probably there about.
So there's a limit to how good his gear can be at that point.
in spider fight the only big problem is the poison mist on pro, but you can use the good activators and a healing deviant, and I guess if you have the mod that heals you on enemy kill then the little spiders will be walking medkits.
See the spider boss(the scary one in the hospital ya?) also has a mechanic as well even at normal mode. Prepare yourself with food and drink buffs that give stamina boost(iced tea made with bellflower and canned meat or a meat dish made with bunny meat) so you can run around and kite the boss without having an asthma attack. If you happened to have portable turrets or even a deviant to tank her for a few (the samurai guy would be fine), you'll be fine. Dodge when you have to dodge, don't think you can tank the damage at your level or your gear level.
I remembered by that time I already had my first Legendary I saved up to buy the blueprint. Hopefully you didn't waste your starchrom on doing the gacha... (bad mistake for any newbie)
Remember to get higher tier gears(just make sure to get the upgrades version), have one gun that can shoot far to get rid of the spider eggs that she'll lay in the distance and she'll be immune to damage until all of those eggs are destroyed. Heal when you have to, send out your deviant to be decoy when you need a breather. Throw molotovs if need coz I threw a lot at her when I was your level. Dodge a lot, coz I dodged as much as my stamina can let me.
Always have the Quick Activators with you because the cool down to use another one is faster than the regular activator.
You know that from the first boss where they have options for the level 50 and 60 versions to select. You also know the Giant boss and story continuation in Phase 4 are for a group. It tells you it is. You could solo everything up to this point with non-meta builds. Basically the entire game is solo friendly. So stop crying about a little content left for groups, and go make 3 friends in the game. Not hard to do.
With a decent build or even semi you can clear almost everything in this game. The games difficulty is a joke lol.
