Why so hard to place a simple roof?

A real pain to put up a roof, the pieces do not rotate and they self-position in the opposite direction to what you want. 1 hour trying, got tired already

In my experience, it's best to use fly mode for roofs and aim lower than your intended snap point. The game should snap that piece up and in place for you.

I have tried to place the piece from below, from above, from the sides and the game always forces its position on the opposite side. The game script It is not even able to detect that there is a triangular frame on the side where the piece should be placed.
