What's the point in using them? They cost 500 stardust.. which is insanely expensive.

that isn't my issue with them...I have yet to see any useful ones. I've scrapped dozens of weapons and have 1 usable for the weapon i like to use and it's absolute garbage..i'd lose a ton of damage if I used it.

They represent a significant damage increase for your weapons.

Whether the cost is high or trivial is irrelevant, you can tune your weapon to do more damage. If you want a Precision + Elemental Damage + Elemental Damage calibration, you can attach it and it will very likely bump your dps up. If you're running a crit build, getting a Heavy + Crit Rate + Crit Rate calibration will be strictly beneficial for your build.

It's just another form of damage upgrade that you gain access to as you do harder content.

If you find yourself doing fine without using any weapon calibration blueprint, then you are using your build wrong or not building at all. They give a roughly 20-50% dmg increase to weapon performance when using the suitable stats for your build.
