Burn normally stacks to 5. You can raise the maximum with other items.

It can be good if you build around it. Boom Boom LMG or Dual Fury Shotgun could probably make great use of it.

I am using the rifle now, I guess u are right with lmg and shotgun I might reach the full 5 burns much faster, maybe against a boss might be good.
Now if I raise the stacks number wouldn't this gear be less useful? So if I can have 8 or 10 stacks of burn max (not sure if it's possible) do I have to reach that amount before the explosion happens? Or will always be at 5?

It's whatever the max stacks is.
For me, it's 30. When Burn stacks reach 30. Boom. And I mean BIG BOOM with 30 stacks.

Dang so not that worth it higher the stack limit. It would make more sense if the stack is 5 then u get more explosions

I'd assume you'd have to reach the max stack, since it does not specify "5".

If you are increasing the burn stack, you want to use the Grill Gloves, which increases how fast the burn does damage based on the number of burn stacks you have.

I don't think the explosion depends on the stacks but on your psi

I think you are referring to Shelter Armor Set. That doesn't increase burn stacks, it stacks Deviant Energy which is +1% more Elemental damage every time you hit something, up to +20%/+30%.
