I have 4 other characters in other servers that I made while I was looking for not overcrowded server in the beginning. I would gladly delete them to make space for people, but NO. Game without and option to delete your own character. Amazing
I nearly always delete the 1st character I create.
We need to delete
Not only this, you have people who will bawl about every little thing, including not being able to farm as many furniture blueprints as they want per day... Imagine the monumental meltdown if people tried to log in after a week and their character was gone.
One more discussion about these things doesn't kill anyone. Hope it helps to highlight (more) the problem.
Can't blaim about losing your character if you're inactive. People can't play on that server (or play togheter) because of your unused character.. This method is working on most of the game of this kind in the last years.
If I know my character will be deleted after - for example - 1 week of inactivity, I'll make sure I login once at least.
And, imo, this is not a "little thing".
Screw them. They'll get over it, or leave (they don't play anyway).
None of the stuff people paid money for would be there anymore if they just went in and deleted your data/character.
That's at least a six figure lawsuit waiting to happen.
"But they're not playing, waaah"
I know, imagine having real lives, or being stationed in a different country due to being in some form of military.
It's going to be tied to your account, not the character with the August 15th patch comes in. it's not as simple as them not playing. There are limited character slots on the server (apparently very few actually), and all the people that played under 4 hours a month ago still have their starter 2x2 plot that never changed and the existence of their characters on the server prevents others that want to play from joining.
The purchased stuff should have been account bound from the start, and there should have always been some kind of threshold to meet to prevent character removal (not deletion). It's easily the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ system in the game.
