How does raiding work when doing chaos cortex?

Once you pick up a chaos stone, you'll go to PvP state. Your base will also be flagged. If you get back to your base with the stones and start purifying, your base will be PvP until the purification completes. Anyone who crosses your border will be flagged PvP during this time. Your PvP timer may last longer than the purification based on what actions you took during pvp (kills, shooting enemies, etc) which will also keep your base flagged ...so, never flag at your base unless you have backup and a plan.
Best case is you pick up the stones and you make it back where your whole hive should be waiting for you...hopefully some other warband members too. Everything is at risk and in open world pvp you WILL drop gear. Good gear. Your best gear in fact, so watch your booty.
If you're raided, they'll sweep in like insects, right past you and all your guns and the meta is to just spam c4 and clear out your storage boxes. You won't be able to stop them alone and no base will keep them out.
I mean, you could do it alone I guess, but you're pretty much hiding and praying for 5 minutes.
