Will all my progress be wiped after seasons are over?
If that is the case I am done playing the game

Read up on what the devs said. You'll loose some and keep some, but the devs explain it better.

Season Inheritance

These will be inherited to the new season

1. Starchrom, Crystgin, Mitsuko's Marks, Stellar Planula, and Sproutletite.
2. Gear Blueprints (including Star Ratings), Blueprint Fragments, Weapon Accessories, and Mods.
3. Fashion cosmetics, character customization data, expressions, and actions, Namecards and titles, and friends.
4. Furniture Formulas (excluding those unlocked by Memetics) and House Blueprints.
5. Main Story and Side Story progress.

These will be teleported to the Eternaland
At the start of a new Season, players can strategically select some of the resources to bring with them on the new journey!
1. Weapons and Armors.
2. Ordinary resources such as materials, medicine, and ammunition.

Content and data not mentioned above, such as character levels, Energy Links, map and Settlement exploration progress, and Season Goal progress will not be inherited.

These details can be found in the game. When in-game, press the Escape key and look for the seasonal "Scenario" box at the right of the screen. It should be the largest of these boxes at the top of this list.

In this window, you'll see 4 tabs up at the top of the screen: Phase, Season Goals, Season Info, and Season Mark.

Click on Season Info and you will see this information listed on the page that the game displays. On this page there are some other tabs with further content related to the whatever season you are playing.

Just don´t waste your time with the building system. You lose everything what you´ve created. Even if you make a blueprint from it, you need a ton of time for all the ressources to get it back. :pout:

I just started playing the game a few days ago. From my understanding, all of my progress is being wiped away and I basically worked for nothing. Just when I was starting to get items I've been working towards like electricity etc.

I could see if you personally chose when to wipe your own character, and you earned season specific rewards you can't get anywhere else like in Diablo or something.

I play on a PVE server and this whole thing sounds like a nightmare.

With the wipe we lose:

Your character's levels..
..and most of the materials you've collected..
..and your map progression..
..and your energy links (credits)..
..and your meme (cipher) points..
..and your unlocked memetic skills..
..and your Wish Machine prize pool status..
..and the time invested in obtaining any of the above..
..and any meaningful attachment to your character..
..and any sense of community on the server you were occupying.
..and potentially a lot of players who don't like wipes.

I hope so

Did they mention why? Seems an odd way of building an rpg like game :/

No u dont cause it will be made from lower level mats at first then covert back to same thing when you can so thats fine

Yeah that's very tedious. Because that means each wipe you're just doing a huge resource grind in order to build back your base/crafting-center to get BACK to the point in the "Story" before the wipe.

With the addition of not being able to see your exploration progress from before. Making things slightly harder to resource grind back to your previous point in the "Story".

Very upsetting to hear.

I guess if you live in a shed. My house will take 7977 wood, and about the same amount of everything else when made out of the lowest tier. That is AFTER you unlock all the memetics to build it again.

Just the thought of going back to an axe and grinding 8k wood then the same with ore and gravel. By the time you are done doing that, I will have a new house mostly built and not want to start again. System really only works for people who are in it for pvp and dont care about base building.

I enjoy the game and will be able to restart about once, second wipe will be when all the servers start collapsing and combining and when I will likely move on.

Well.. seasonal wipes primarily exist for one reason: because it's easier for the developer. They embrace a seasonal model because it places more burden on the player and less on the developer. They can create less and have you, the player, just restart a character over and over and over again and call it content.

They're also looking to provide a very different gaming experience than the one they advertise through their trailers.

Their idea is for you to look at the server list and eventually see a list of servers running several different seasonal scenarios concurrently. You decide which scenario you're interested in and play on a server that is running it until the event concludes, and then you repeat the process. You can play the same scenario again or you can pick a different scenario. Other players are doing the same thing and not necessarily choosing the same scenario as you. Obviously this results in a more fractured community.

It is simpler to look at it as a collection of mini-games to choose from, and a central account to which rewards obtained from those mini-games are funneled to. You can think of Eternaland as the visualized lobby you always return to between games; a place where some of your rewards are stored. Your character is not a persistent entity, but rather a device used to participate in those different mini-games. One month you're opting for Freeze-Tag, another month you're opting for Hop Scotch, another month you're playing Hide-and-Go-Seek. You get the idea.

It's not necessarily a horrible idea for a game, but it feels like a far cry from what most people were expecting, and a lot of that has to do with the way marketing portrayed this game as a horror-themed open-world survival MMO. Yes, it is an MMO in the technical sense in that it is a multiplayer game with a high population count and it is online, but it does not fit the mold of what players typically expect from an MMO like WoW, FFXIV, GW2, etc., and so understandably the seasonal design feels very bad.

Lets be fair... have 1 main full perfect yellow gear with mods and so on...
Just did 2 new characters on another servers if there wasnt the "Phase 1" limit, would already be lvl 25 with electricity in less than few hours.

People talking about "intense farm" have either no clue how to play the game which is fine there s a learning curve especially if you arent used to survival, MMO or both, either try to prove their point using false arguments.

The only "grind" is when you PvP and you have to build an entire defense base on your own and grind for explosives to be able to attack some people every single war.

Reset is fine cause you dont lose a lot of things. BP are here to make the "rebuilding process" easier without having to rethink the entire base each time (but it can be fun to do so too).
The only thing that isnt clear is if you lose Deviants or not... i guess yes, which is kind of bad if you cant grind those Pokemon and at least take 1 or 2 Combat one you are using for the next season.

Other than that you ll be able to bring calibrated weapon and gear with you and so on... we keep all BP and Mods. Gear is like a potion, you use it, you lose it and recraft it.
The only difference with Albion is Calibration on weapons which means there s 2 - 3 weapons that you'll never use in Open World PvP cause you can lose it if you die.
For the rest... nothing special, except that 6 weeks for 1 season is unrealistic, at best it will be 2 to 3 months which will already be the case.

Season 1 to 2 will be a bit boring for people like myself having to wait for friends to finish their season before being able to go on a server together.
Alt characters are also a big issue as we can create a steam account and create a character in the game. Created 2 mails & 2 steam accounts for friends that were in vacations so i could create a character for them and reserve their slot...
Less than 5 min per account, so i imagine that some Warbands are doing 5 or 10 alt to succeed in PvP covering their territories with winning bid.

lol if all you have to worry about is 7000 wood then that should take you 10 mins haha.
