Osmosis turning polluted water into pure water when im offline
So I set up a base that pulls polluted water from one side and dirty from the other. Works like a charm. I have four pumps sending polluted water to two osmosis filters, and one pump sending dirty water to a different osmosis filter, all separated from each other. This way I am producing both dirty water and polluted water, to refine into pure water and impure acid all separate from each other so there is no cross over between them. They also send to different storage tanks. It all works just swimmingly! Until I log off.

If I let the process run while I am offline, the osmosis purifiers start turning a significant portion of the polluted water into pure water instead of impure acid. Now my storage tank that used to only collect impure acid is full to the brim with pure water every day and I have to throw dozens of stacks of it out constantly to make room for impure acid. I checked the purifier to make sure it didn't somehow start picking up dirty water, but no, all 4 slots are kept tapped out at 100 polluted water at all times, no room for any dirty water to sneak in. The pumps for that system are also only producing polluted water as intended, no dirty water there either.

I tried staying logged in overnight, just AFKd in my base and went to bed IRL. Next morning checked on it, the processing speeds all changed COMPLETELY. My osmosis purifiers that were taped out at 100 polluted water in all 4 slots for days on end were now completely empty, having completely processed all the polluted water faster than the pumps could provide it. The pumps were empty too. So, interesting that processing rates change when offline vs online... but also, and here's the kicker, not a single pure water was produced by the purifiers from polluted water. Only impure acid was produced the entire night.

So, two discoveries here.

When offline, polluted water has a chance to refine into pure water. When online it will only resolve into impure acid.

And when online, water pumping rate, or water purification rate (not sure which?), changes as opposed to when offline. I am uncertain if the polluted water is pumping faster and overwhelming the purifier, or if the purifier is processing faster when I am online and outpacing the pumps. But there is very clearly a difference here.

Anybody else seeing this?

Same thing is happening to me, I noticed it after letting it run all night and came back to all pure water. I also played on another server for a few hours today and when I came back to my main account it was pure water again. There is no way that dirty water is getting in since I have 2 storage tanks full of polluted water and still end up with purified water when i log off.

Oddly, for me, after the last patch this behavior has largely abated. Impure Acid processes out of polluted water at speeds more like what I see when logged in, dramatically increasing my production rates of the material. However, I'm still getting a significant percentage as pure water and only when offline. So it has not resolved entirely for me.

had something similar happen to me i put polluted water in my tank to feed filter, went to work and when i came home i had some impure acid but everything currently in the filters turned into dirty water instead of polluted

This seems to be happening to me I now see. My issue is, I'm online and my filters are still filtering polluted water into purified water, no impuracid . I can see in the filters menu screen, polluted water in, and under that it says purified water will come out. How do I fix this?

they deff changed or tweaked a thing or two, my pumps that pump up oil and poluted what ever its called to make acid out of, at an fairly high amount, now i barely get anything, did not changed my location or anything.

I find it has to do with the wall pumps i have complete pure water system just run off water tanks it pulls impure into that system that has no ties to anything but water. I pull all polluted straight to my osmosis.

I too pull exclusively polluted to my osmosis. And when I'm logged in, it refines to impure acid 100% of the time. If I log off though, a large percentage of the polluted water starts to refine into impure acid, no water pumps in between the osmosis and the water tank storage. There is a water pump getting the polluted water up to the osmosis purifier, but again, I am not getting a single dirty water anywhere, at all. I am literally refining polluted water into pure water, exclusively while logged out.

aside of getting less polluted water, it does NOT turn into pure water when i'm off line for me.
but i do notice i get less polluted water out of my pumps and i have not moved them.

I moved my base to get oil then back to a area i was getting polluted and now that area is pulling in salt water on launch server.

same issue every night for last week or so

I too have the same problem that I get purified water if I go offline. So to test a theory, I disconnected the pipes from impure acid tanks to the osmosis purifier. I came back online and found that the tank was full of impure acid. So the pumps are working fine. It is the osmosis filter that changes the impure acid to purified water when you go offline.

Yeap, i now also get pure water, GOD D why so many bugs.

Same problem here!!
- Pumps in polluted area, always only pumping polluted water.
- Pumps Connected to tank that always only contains polluted water.
- Tank connected to Osmosis Water Purifier
- Input on Purifier always only contains polluted water

> If online: Output filter (in tank AND filer itself) only Impure Acid
> If offline: Output filter (in tank AND filer itself) 1/3 Impure Acid and 2/3 Purified Water (not exact numbers but seems something like that)

If I had to imagine it myself, I would expect the output to always be 1/3 Impure Acid and 2/3 Purified Water, but of course that must always be the case. Left or right, as long as it's the same online and offline!!

Same here, would appreciate that fix as I'm desperate for that acid.

Though I don't have to log-off, I just have to be away from my home. While I'm standing there it seems to work.
