Actually, I was trying to type OTHER stuff and got blocked. You cannot mention a BUNCH of stuff. You cannot even say several words that aren't obscene, but are being used against China RECENTLY. I just went to the first thing I could think of that would probably be filtered ONLY because it is a political statement against china, and guess what...
That's all. I am not trying to shout this message in game, haven't at all, but you can't even if you wanted to, because even in your game, China is imposing its will. Care or not, China controls you at least a little in there.
I have only mentioned it here. I'm not discussing china except for the fact they are the reason the chat filter IS POLITICAL. I am not trying to preach a political message, I am trying to tell you that the filter stop you from doing so. Suppressing protests is political, mentioning that suppression is not.
Either way, there are a ton of other silly filters too that make no sense. Terms you see in history books are filtered out... It's not good....
I am not trying to tell you about Taiwan, I'm trying to tell you about a chat filter. Where are you confused?
Well that's just weird. I have seen odd choices in public chat spaces from other games and things have always been dicey when it comes to Chinese US relations so I wouldn't be surprised if they're walking on a narrow line to cater to both audiences while not breaking their (likely more strict) laws/regulations, even if it's on the safer side.
Ultimately, if you're chatting in game about stuff then you're subject to whatever restrictions the devs put in but really, that's ALL games. I remember there was an EA Battlefield game that had weird censorship stuff that folks were complaining about for a hot minute. If it significantly hinders your ability to enjoy the game then hit up the Discord and let it be known, I'd say. Might be a legit reason for it, might be something they know needs work but it's down the pipeline.
I hate typing a full sentence in chat, and because the game detects a naughty word it didn't like, half my sentence gets deleted automatically
replace Taiwan with Tibet and it's also censored
you can type both words seperately though
the rich americans have been pushing native Hawaiians off their land for generations and building holiday homes on their ancestral land, but if someone said justice for Hawaiian natives nobody would care.
people only care about free Taiwan and free Tibet BECAUSE they are censored, if they weren't censored everyone would forget about it.
