Your gears matter. I also have a sniper build/mixed fire LMG.
Sometimes even the combo of weapons matter because each weapon has its own passives and that helps with the dps.
What are your gears and the mods in them?
I try to make sure my mods focus more on Weakspot dmg(I use AWS Bingo) if you're doing pve..
I have a aws 338 black planter
Mod shattering ICE violent
And MG4 mod Flame résonance
But I mainly use the snipe
The Black Panther has a pretty interesting passive. It uses the Fortress Warfare, which is a good passive since most of the time we snipers would be looking through the scope and not shoot at the hip. Why Ice mod tho? It's not using an element at all.
Well I don't really use this sniper gun, but the gears are similar to my AWS Bingo along with some of the mods. Since, ya sniper. I tried out the one I found during a silo run and inserted the Final Territory mod (Legendary) into the Black Panther. Works fine, and I suggest it over an element type of mod. It's not meant for that gun at least.
I saw on a reddit post for a build that uses Black Panther and it looks pretty solid. It's a 3-3 set type of gears to get the passives with 3 pieces. 3 pieces of any Bastille set and 3 pieces of Falcon.
The Bastille set you can buy for 3k starchrom each piece from the Mr. Wish arcade. It gives you dmg buff for having over 70% hp, reload buff and if you don't move for .5 seconds you get another damage buff. This is good when you're sniping at enemies from one location.
The 3 pieces of the Falcon set will give you stamina reduction cost for rolling, crit dmg and crit rate and crit dmg for having above 90% of stamina.
Most important mods on gears for snipers, I would suggest on your pants to use the LEGENDARY Unstoppable mod, which gives weakspot dmg when you're far away from the enemy.
The gloves, I use a Legendary weakspot dmg boost talent. Try to get most weakspot if you're aiming for pve more. Otherwise, Crit/Crit dmg.
You should use the Lonewolf's whisper deviant to tank for you as you stay in place to shoot for higher damage.
Which MG4? There's 4 different MG4s.. XD Why fire mod for MG4? I would understand if you got the same LMG as me, I would use a burn effect mod because the KVD Boom boom uses a burn DoT. And boyo does it melt the boss' armor lovingly..
Besides that for buff foods, I would go with the Assorted Canned Fruits, which ups weakspot dmg, when your sanity is above 80%. Make sure your aim is true.
XD Ya the details in the game is a bit confusing too. I'm running a burn LMG/Sniper build currently. I'm still learning. In honesty, a lot of people are going for shrapnel dmg because it's a bit easier to understand...
Just match the mods to the gun's passives. Then work gears according to the weapon choices. :D And np,
I used to score a bit lower than my fiancee when running silos together before I got my KVD Boom Boom. Now I out score his dmg if I don't die coz I over aggro the boss. :D
