I assume this hut limits the shrapnel hit to only one but does lots of damage on that single one.

If you want, you can also watch some videos about builds and then simply copy and paste some min max builds, as most do.
Personaly, I am not using some youtube copy and paste build, and build my own, maybe not as min max optimized, but at least it is my build.

2) when he used the Beret he never reloaded, I wonder what made him have such effect, I wish he showed what other peaces of gear he had, tbh.
People do suggest just keep the beret to save starchrom, but if you insist on the dps, you can go and buy the mask.
1) free, save 8k starchrom
2) with it I think the gun seems not to need a reload.

The link u sent me says... "The Beret headgear increases the number of Shrapnel, allowing you to strike two other locations for double damage"
Yep, two: the first one that gets hit by the shrapnel, then the one that gets hit by the +1 extra part, for a total of 30%
Ah I think I found reason: comments are pointing to Momentum Up Mod: 10%Firerate on first half of the mag, then it becomes +30% weapon damage on the last half of the magazine, which probably explains the big shootup in damage when the mag was drained to down 20+ rounds.
