Planting in Polluted Area QUESTION
So, I just heard/read through a streamer's chat hence me wanting to post this and ask since it was only 1 person BUT they mentioned if you plant in a polluted area (I assume it doesn't matter the strength of the pollution level?) to get a higher chance of deviated crops?

50% from mutation fert + legendary just doesn't seem like a huge ROI BUT if this is true and pollution would add a % to this total, lets say even 10-15% would be pretty big to hopefully get a higher chance of deviated crops. 1 Deviated Mushroom crop with legendary was giving only 3 crops even with the harvesting tool (a chance to double which I never get lol) but these 3 deviated mushrooms just go right back into the 1 legendary fertilizer bag for it again.

Just really trying to find that sweet spot of reproducing deviated crops consistency with my return feeding into itself much like a self-sustaining farm. Currently I'm crafting Deviated Chops, Orange Pies, Canned Seafood + Stardust Drinks in quantity, I want to do the Whim Drink for the 25% status damage but need Deviated Saffron hence me asking this. If my deviated mushrooms don't produce more than the 1 fert to feed into itself, how can I support additional types of crops with deviated properties.

Sry for long paragraph but from me testing this with my specialization's legendary fertilizer + doing mutation fertilizer to see the difference, the ROI is rough IMO unless someone can mention to me something better which the Polluted Area farming sounded kinda good.

Also, using Grow Shroom Deviant is nice but doesn't replant with fertilizer and the bonuses from things in my inventory don't apply to him harvesting, the Bee Deviant obviously but once they rest and come back out, they go to a random other crops unless I pick them up to throw them at the one I want them on so that is also a bit of a hit and miss.

I have a farm setup of at least 100 crops just so you know so you can imagine the bees just randomly going to all my plots except for the Saffron which I would want.

I use mutated fertilizer it's cheap to make and I get a success of 50% I'd say.

Mutated fert + Buzzy Bee and I'm rolling in deviated crops.

Yeah I mean I understand the mutation fertilizer but even if it's a massive 50% ratio, there's still odds of not getting 1 deviated crop plot sadly. I am just trying to increase that potential chance of mutation in general if there is anything, like planting in a polluted area for instance if that works.

The Bee is great but if it switches crop plots when it wakes up after it's power is gone then it has a chance to be on something else when it wakes back up. So if I have nearly 100 crop plots but I only want a section to be deviated, it's tough. Morel Mushrooms for instance when it's deviated don't give back seeds it seems, every time I've had deviated Morel it don't provide seeds back. Trying to test out making nothing but legendary food for the buffs for not just myself but to sell as well to the server since it seems I have one of the bigger farms producing for everyone.

Thanks for the tips/help!

my farm is in 100+ constantly and I never got deviated plants unless i use the mutating fertilizer

My plot is like 20% and Ill get at least 1 deviant per yield. Currently sitting on a horde of deviated Corn, pumpkins, beats, safron, peppercorn, list goes on.

Logged in to check this yield and I have a deviated corn, beet and wheat.

How do you get the mutated fertilizer in the first place?

dont let the growshrooms plant, just let them harvest and they also increase dev chance like bees. i have 7 tending to a 120 plot farm. gets a lot of deviated crops with just mutation fert.

I've always been living in polluted area. And my conclusion is no, I don't believe that is the case. The area doesn't noticeably contribute to plant mutation, if at all.
