Water system needs work...
I like the attempt at the complexity but they really need to work out the kinks or totally re-create this entire thing....
It's simple enough if you ignore the pumps and anything else. As long as the source of water is higher up...

But trying to do anything else at all shows the many flaws in the system. Basically pumps pull water up...sometimes down too...which I think is a bug, but not sure because pumps would work like that IRL. What they would do tho is pump the water in a single direction...up or down a pipe. Not just magically suck water upwards like in this game. What happens in game is if your pump is higher then your destination it will flow the water back to the pump. If it is below...well water won't flow uphill. Anything elevated at all will run into this issue. Again this could be a bug as I'm pretty sure i've had it working at one point or another only to log on the next day and it's suddenly not pumping anything into my storehouse or greenhouse.

They should just simplify it like Ark does...as long as connected to a pipe you get water. It's a video game we really do not need the extra steps. If they do need to keep it in, at least make it work logically. Water in a pipe will flow one direction until something stops it..

Go outside, take a hose. Hold it straight up in the air and turn the water on.. Water comes out even tho there is no pump at the end! That is what should happen in this game too..

water always flows downwards with gravity. the only exception is the pump which gets water from whatever is placed below it, and outputs it to anything above it. if you need something to flow down, don't use a pump.

If take a hose and turn the tap, water goes up because that water is under pressure either via pumps or gravitational source like a water tower or mix of both.

Water can go up through capillary action but that requires a very small pipe and has a definite limit at which point it stops.
