Yeah it will refuse to launch if you say no. Either yes or will not start. Click on more details on admin request for what it is doing.

It's admin permissions, not password. And yes, it needs elevated permissions to run properly. That's why it's asking you for them. If you don't want to give them, then uninstall the game.
Cuz you can't play without them.

problem is that its not my computer so having to get the owner to put in the password every time is a pain in the ass. I get that its windows and not the game itself, but i feel like once the game has been given them and even installed and played, it should be good to just play no?

No, it's not Windows, it's the game developers who don't know how to program a game to safely bypass UAC. Blame them, not Microsoft. You don't see that happening on every other game you play, right? Microsoft has done their part to help make your computer safer, developers need to do theirs.

fair enough. ive had that issue with some other games (but they run even if you click no) so I just assumed some features (particuarly online ones) just needed them

That's weird that you could click No and the game would start anyway. That's a very unsafe way to bypass UAC, but, there you go. Goes to show how unseriously some developers treat security these days. Well good luck.

You should stop to talk about things you have no knowledge about.
Admin Permission is needed in a lot of games because it's the permission required for two very important things:
  • 1. GAME DATAS: It prevents tampering with game data and at the same time gives access to files to verify the integrity and change the directory in case of update.
  • 2. ANTICHEAT: Most of the online games right now use anticheats that require Admin Permissions, and some of them also require Kernel level or ROOT permission .
The simple reason you don't see that for every game is because if you already run Steam on Admin Permission like most of the users do, all the game inherit the permission automatically from Steam, unless you change the default settings.

Every single game require Admin Privilege at least one, otherwise how do you expect them to install files on your PC and manage them?

Additionally, Admin Permission is not really the highest power something can have on your PC and NO, ADMIN PERMISSION CANNOT DO EVERYTHING.
First of all there are ranks WAY WAY higher than Admin Permission.
Moreover, the OS has has numerous built-in safeguards, and your hardware also has others.
