Any good tips on how to use Buzzy Bee deviant to improve mutation on my crop?

Any good tips on how to use Buzzy Bee deviant to improve mutation on my crop?
So I have few lv2 with stats 3,2 and 1 eye icon. I have some crop with the mutation fertilizer but not many since they are expensive and I don't see a lot of mutations in my garden, do I have to put more bees or use planter boxes instead of loamy soils?

Where you plant them doesn't matter.
Getting deviated crops is all RNG. Buzzy Bee and mutation fert can help, but it's never a guarantee.
