There is no way concurrent player numbers are correct
Something fishy about this, i know it's a good game, solid game. But a lot of games came and go, not a single one kept the whole playerbase for 3-4 weeks straight without drops. This game however when you check concurrent players, it's always around 200k, it's been more than 3 weeks. This game had 80k on the 3rd day of release then all of a sudden it bumped to 200k and stayed there for 3 WEEKS. There is literally no way this is correct.

You can also check Naraka, which is an another netease game and it have 90% of asian playerbase, currently it's midnight for them yet it has 150k playerbase online as we speak. At least half of them must be fake.

I don't know, this feels so fake to me tbh, every single out there is dead, many regions i understand but still, almost every server is DEAD, not a single soul. Where is this 200k?

I believe Netease just botting to increase concurrent playerbase count, i think steam should investigate this type of suspicious stuff.

Seems "strange" to me also. 200k players but when you try to find players for Silo\Rift there´s no1 to be found....
Few players are trying Pro atm, but that´s out of my reach still...

I'm on PVE 6. Phase 4 dropped, so the server revived a bit to try the new content.

Look at the amount of servers in all the regions they have. There are hundreds of them. Hundreds! With 10 words on every server. So if you have 20-30 players (maybe even less if unlucky kekw) per world on your old long time abandoned server (players tried the game and left, it happens, and no one can join). And maybe 50+ per world on some lucky new server. I am just assuming things but it could be true. But even small numbers adds up.

I can barely see 1 player in hours. 5-7 player in end-game event. So lonely... for a MMORPG.

This slot based server system is so f up, it's just unbelievable.

EU region has 135 PVE servers and 43 PVP,
NA has 111 PVE + 34 PVP
Korea PVE 21 PVP 7
SA 35 PVE 17 PVE
Japan 15 PVE 5 PVP
SEA 48 PVE 17 PVP
HK : 20 PVE 5 PVP
Math is hard but thats 513 servers, thats bonkers to be honest considering none of these servers can handle Prime War content with more than 15 people participating.
Thats about 390 people/server assuming 200k people online, but some of them play without steam so i dont know

There are 5,130 total layers (assuming all 513 have 10 each) so that makes it even worse…

They had to open up more servers to accommodate the influx of players at launch. Many of those players have since given up on the game. It makes the servers seem sparsely populated when, in reality, there's actually a good number of total people playing across them all.
Next Season, they should pare down the servers as most of the players who quit won't be returning to clog them up again with their abandoned characters and bases.

And the reviews many of them said the exact same thing I noticed. With it being a free game very possible they are doing that which would also falsely inflate player count

Ah, yes. The initial poor reviews were by those who didn't understand the ToS and thought that two, innocuous files were "spyware" or "crypto mining".
Then, players with brains started playing and reviewing the game properly, driving the score up. They're squashing the "spyware" rumors and correcting people who were misinformed about wipes. But yeah, it's totally a conspiracy for some reason or another, right?
Gimme a break lol

I think next season will be better. A lot of players stopped playing when they introduced the seasons. Most feel like they will lose everything and start at square one, I feel this is not true because it is the blueprints we are after in the game not the levels. In this game you level very quickly in the seasons. It is not about the cap level but the journey getting there. I think next season the game will be better as there will be less servers and then the game will attract more players. Right now we have the issue of the servers being locked to new people which means for a lot of us our servers are low population. I still love this game, it reminds me of Cyberpunk and I am lucky to have a friend to play with.

It's not always 200k. Look at steam charts.
Kyota Jul 28, 2024 @ 1:20pm
Ahh yes...Western games with large concurrent numbers are perfectly legit.

But when Asian games see any form of success in the west your typical bigot argues: bots, spyware, and fake reviews.

Racists are so funny in their rationalisations.

Probably the bot accounts giving them higher numbers and good reviews lol.
