.... Shoot rockets back? Rush their line? There is plenty to do... But yes, generally it needs more devleopment.
I would also assume that simply being in a warband and among a big compound of bases might deter anyone from sitting next to a base rocket spamming it...
I'm hoping they add some form of chaff grenade to counter rockets or other automated attacks myself, this gives counter play which is crucial to any type of large scale pvp.
We experienced it on a location where they spawn next to a mountain and it takes them less then a minute to get up there and takes us a few minutes and after the first few minutes about half our base was gone and we managed to clear the mountain and they just came at us from a new direction. There really wasn't much we can do. The rockets have no range limit and the problem is that they are shooting for a stationary base and only have to destroy an objective. While we have to prevent them from destroying that objective. Where rocket spam just reverses the roles really. They just choose a spot where they can see the base and fire away tell they finally take out the objective. While we have to run after them and when we get close enough they just swap to weapons and kill us. Not to mention they were using portable mg turrets that they got to place freely. Like saying there is plenty you can do. Is just assuming the enemy is bad and is just gonna let you win. If you screw up there one plan.
There is a limit to what you can build in a war. You cap out at less structures then you can build for your actual base and you have a max of how many turrets/traps you can have. Which is 12. I got double that at my home base. When the war starts it's a 25 minute match of everyone who was in position at the time and all the stuff they brought with them. You lose nothing when you die except more durability on your equipment and you re spawn in 15 seconds at your respective re spawn. Another thing is that your base can be attacked before it even starts. Potentially causing your base to be damage before the fight and you can't build at all during the actual war. War bases are completely separate from your actual bases.
Yeah I don't want them to completely remove rockets, but there needs to be some sort of couterplay or they need to be nerfed to where they are barely worth using.
The game is balanced around the fact that biomass missiles, red plasma, and rockets are the big payloads, they need to be powerful because of how hard they are to make and how heavy they are to carry compared to everything else. All they need to do is implement some form of counter measure that is to it's equal as long as it's played well no different than the iron dome defense that we have IRL and it'll make for good gameplay.
Have you successfully done this, or are you theorycrafting?
