For those experiencing stuttering with NVIDIA cards

I've been ripping my hair out trying to figure out why I couldn't play the game for the last week due to MAJOR stuttering/optimization issues. It completely slipped my mind but there was a driver update a couple weeks ago, at least for NVIDIA cards (I have a 3080 TI). I tried everything else suggested in here EXCEPT rolling back my drivers. This was the solution for me. Roll back your NVIDIA drivers to 556.12. To do this:

1. Go to https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/drivers/ and find your drivers for your specific card
2. Download the 556.12 update
3. Open it and let it do its thing
4. Try the game again

Not only Nvidia has this issue. Im also having stuttering on AMD RX6800XT.

Not sure if you could do the same thing. Try rolling back your drivers if you just updated them recently.

I'm on nvidia 550.78 and have the stuttering. I am on Proton but I don't think that's why.

I'm not experiencing stuttering but since several updates ago, i'm experiencing intermittent crashing. Drivers up to date and no, it's no where close to a potato. Not sure what the issue is, other than EVERY single time, it crashes after i press F on something to loot something. It's the only common thing that happens. I will be harvesting in the wild, pressing F and crash randomly and somewhat infrequently but frequently enough that it happens a couple times a day when playing.

Not sure what card you’re using or your other specs but this post is mainly for people with 30 and 40 series nvidia cards.

I can’t speak much for the crashing. I haven’t crashed one time since playing it, that sounds like an entirely different problem. When do the crashes occur?

I have a 6700xt and got stuttering withe lastest drivers. I just set the frame rate in game to no restrictions then pressed alt R and put vsync always on.
stuttering is no more.
